Narrative Essay On Frankenstein

It was Halloween night, and all through the town, little creatures were stirring both up and down, to the top of each hill, and the bottom of each street, these creatures were excited for bags full of treats.

Black goblins, green witches and even white ghosts, were hopping from houses to get candy from folks.
Decorations like spiders and creepy crawly things, vampires and zombies, and more scary scenes.

An owl’s hoot in the distance and a coyote’s howl,
Reminded those creatures of the dangers around.
“Watch out for those villains, those nasty ole souls, especially the Frankenstein who’s out on patrol.”

“Don’t visit the graveyard, I’m warning you, beware.
Only spirits and vampires and skeletons wait there.”
“They hide in the shadows, in the dark of

She was nicer and kinder, with a smile so wide.

Then one day they asked her about her friend named Jesus, curious of the one thing that truly could free us.
She said, “it’s like this, a small pumpkin, you see, laid rotting in the field with no worth some might think.”

“When one day someone came and cleaned it all up,
He opened the top and scooped out the pulp.”
A smile was carved on the front of its face, and a light was placed inside to show others the way.”

“I was that pumpkin, in some ways, you see.
My heart was rotting on the inside of me.”
“So full of sin, but I did not know, til I opened the Bible, and it told me so.”

“It said that Jesus loves me, and he died for my sin, so that I can be forgiven and live happy again.”
“It was last Halloween, when I heard of this truth,
His Word rescued me, and made me brand new.”

Of all the Halloween stories that could have been shared, this one is my favorite, so pull up a chair.
This story is not scary, there’s nothing to dread.
It’s called the Halloween Redemption Story, frankly, instead.

This Halloween as you turn out the lights, do not worry of shadowy frights.
But know that God loves you and He calls you by

Frankenstein Reflective Journal After reading the novel Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley, I can certainly see that the character Victor Frankenstein himself is isolated and lonely. This is illustrated through each chapter in even more depth as you read deeper into the novel. Victor doesn't epitomize the stereotypical man, pertaining to his level of sensitivity. For a man to be a man, they must act like one, and as cliché as it is, I have concluded that Victor defies this presumption by acting this way and expressing natural emotion more evidently. He is someone who has rejected standard and has been rejected by society because of this.…

Halloween is like a horror movie, except with drunk teenagers instead of axe murders. It was about two years ago, when we were still living in Germany. It was a fairly peaceful Halloween night and the sun was about to set. My friends and I were walking around the village, what Germans call a town. After about half an hour of us walking around and talking, some acne filled, tall, muscular and older, German teenagers came up to us.…

Like many legends and tales Frankenstein's story has been changed and modified over the years. Mary Shelley's original Frankenstein tale was a different form of story telling in its day and age back when the story was first created there wasn't anything like it. Nowadays the books and movies you see are all about horror and thriller tales. I chose to watch Victor Frankenstein (2015) and The Curse of Frankenstein (1957) These two movies seemed them most interesting to me.…

From television to novels to haunted houses, these monsters have become an influence not only in the realms of fantasy but in reality. The intrigue for these monsters comes not from the scares they provide, but rather how they mirror the lives of people across the world. Through his essay, My Zombie, Myself, Chuck Klosterman is able to effectively utilize allusions, anecdotes, and figurative language while exploring how the image of the zombie is embedded into society in order to illustrate how the lives of people in reality is not that far from the lives of those in the midst of the…

Manipulating the Human Mind Through Time Ironically, despite being arguably the most important object to every human on Earth, perhaps the most mysterious object left in the observable universe is the human mind. The key mystery of the mind is of course the it’s immense complexity, making it almost impossible to understand, though not for a lack of effort and substantial progress in the scientific community. In literature, one way that the mysteries of human intelligence are explored is by giving something that is not human the intelligence of a human.…

Secrets and lies exist throughout people's day-to-day lives. Although secrets can be a simple as white lies, often secrets can be dangerous and pose risk to both secret keeper and those around them. In both "The Secret Life of Secrets" by Alan Burdick and "The Danger of Keeping Secrets" by Alex Lickerman, the articles emphasize the potential physical and psychological impacts of keeping secrets. Throughout Macbeth by Shakespeare and Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, the protagonists keep secrets which spiraled out of control resulting in the destruction of their lives. All in all, it is clear to see secrets can have devastating effects leading to sever mental and physical issues in both literature and reality.…

The Bride of Frankenstein (1935) Movie Review The Bride of Frankenstein by James Whale was a very interesting take on the classic story. It continues with the original story of the Monster and his maker Frankenstein, with similar themes as the first installment. The biggest theme that it centralizes around, is the idea that the monster needs a friend, or mate as the title might give away, a bride. In this movie, the monster got his wish, and more.…

Jeffrey Jerome Cohen in his article “Fear of the Monster is Really a Kind of Desire” examines the issue of being with a monster or better be the monster ourselves. The desire it can be either for power, freedom, or even just to be the center of attention. “We distrust and loathe the monster at the same time we envy its freedom, and perhaps its sublime despair” (Cohen, 190). People tend to watch scary movies and read monster stories and feel attracted to one of the monsters and wish to be that monster. In Halloween is the only time when a human being can express the realm of the monster they want to be just for a night and celebrate by asking for candy in the neighborhood or having a Halloween party.…

Victor Frankenstein decided to not allow the female version of his first creation to live long, or at all for various reasons. Frankenstein’s journey with creating his first creature was not a peaceful experience. During the 2 years Frankenstein spent making his male creature large in size, since he did indeed already learn how to bestow animation upon lifeless matter, Frankenstein states “I doubted at first whether I should attempt the creation of a being like myself or one of simpler organization; but my imagination was too much exalted by my first success to permit me to doubt of my ability to give life to an animal as complex and wonderful as man” (45). Thus as Frankenstein’s excitement kept him focused on completing this goal, he was unhealthy…
