I would turn the lights on at the front of the house so that I had enough light to turn off the lights at the back of the house before I was able to leave the house. Another fear that I have coped with is Acrophobia, which is the fear of heights. Many people have these fears but a fear that I have never been able to get over is Spheksophobia. Every night when I go to sleep I always put my blanket over my ear because of the fear of a wasp coming into my room and crawling into my ear. There was a time at work when I was in my store's stockroom trying to unlock a security case and when I turned over I wasp spray can and saw the picture I threw the can across the stockroom and freaked out. As we inched closer and closer to the ride I felt my stomach getting heavier and heavier. Once we got to the gate of the ride my stomach was on the floor. I remember begging my mom not to go and her just ignoring me. When it came to our turn to get on the ride I remember it all in slow motion. I sat down in the seat of the ride, put on my seatbelt and reached above my head to put the waist-guard down. I remember the countdown of the operator taking forever to get to one. As soon as the ride made its take off, all fear that I had evaporated and a smile was immediately placed upon my face. I couldn’t believe how fast I came to enjoy riding a roller coaster. After I had ridden the roller coaster, I came to realize that if I wanted to get rid of a fear, I need to expose myself to it so that it becomes familiar. SO when I say that at one point I was scared of the dark, I mean that I put myself in situations in which I had to work my way through the darkness. When confronted with a problem that had to deal with me climbing a ladder, I took extra time to realize how high I was until eventually, I was
