Memoir

I am not a bad kid but in the past I have done some questionable things such as things that followed the guidelines of fists and bruises but I am going to tell you the story of when I got into my first fight. This story is kicked off by saying it was my first day of middle school in gym class when I decided try to smart mouth off to one of the new kids I was paired up with which probably was my first mistake, Never smart mouth off to a eighth grader that is heavier than you. To protect the antagonist’s identity I will call him fart knocker; I was sitting in the locker room changing out of my P.E. clothes when fartknocker thought it would be funny to take his axe deodorant and spray all over my clothing.

He was marking his territory similar to what a dog does to a fire hydrant which set me off into a blind rage. I admit in rage I do not have the best judgement so I look at fartknocker and said “ What are you doing little guy? “ since fartknocker was a tad bit small for an eighth grader with his mass. Fartknocker then threw up the most sinister smile that has ever been seen on this planet. Fartknocker decided to fight a little flame

At this moment only 2 things shot through my mind which was the pain I felt in my eyes and the pains of being thrown into a locker which was not as glorious as the movies said it would be. I immediately started defending myself from the oncoming punches that sent me into overdrive. I tried to open my eyes before the last punch but to no avail so I did the next best thing by grabbing fartknockers greasy curly hair before being laughed at by other children which quickly brought end to the fight. After the fight ended I never had the same image of the school again which later on somewhat motivated me to play sports. When the day ended I got fartknocker suspended for a few days so it sort of was a victory but I still got my moral significantly

If you don’t believe me that’s fine but i’m just going to explain what happened. Mr. Pendanski was making fun of me for not being able to read and I got mad. I was really mad at the fact that he thinks i’m dumb because that’s all he’s ever thought of me just because I don’t like answering his questions.…

It was one year ago when I step on the cage for the first time I had never been so scared before, until the day. The only thing I knew was that I had trained very hard and my instructor had told me to be relax, but it was not enough to keep myself calm. As I waited on the waiting room, the only thing in my mind was to win and pray so that everything came out the way I wanted it to be. My only goal was to impress my instructor, it depended on this fight whether I was going to keep fighting or not. Finally, I was called out loud in the speaker, and Andrew was the name of my contender, he weighed 135 pounds and a much taller guy than me…

It’s the middle of class and school is about to end but something doesn’t seem right. Everyone in the room, including the teacher start to have nose bleeds and that’s when I knew that they were empty minded humans that only say the word “brains”. I grabbed my backpack and ran downstairs to the basement. My school wasn’t built for the use of students but for the use of soldiers because it was used as a bomb shelter for citizens to use as a hideout in case there was a war happening.…

The voices disappeared and, the bullies blurred as the back of my eyes pricked with tears, forcing myself to hold them in. As I reached my locker, I shoved textbooks and books into my bag. Abruptly, my head yanked back, letting out a cry of pain I fell. "Welcome back to hell, bitch."…

Being thin, I never thought that I can win a fight with anyone. Until a gangster taught me this, “You are thin so don’t engaged in a fist fight. Use anything that you can get hold of and turn into a weapon. Because no matter how big they are you can still hurt them with it.” He taught me further, “Always wear a belt; it can be turned into a weapon for protection.…

Darkness consumes the room and spotlights occupy the stage. Huge pitch squeals escape the lips of overly-excited teens and reflect off of the walls of the arena vibrating within the packed crowd. Anticipation and impatience slowly fill the chamber as distant chants grow closer and louder. A silhouette teases the crowd from behind the curtain, and we scream as a familiar song leaks through the speakers. Soon a beautiful, smooth voice breaks through the speakers, overpowering the soft tune behind it.…

The fight just ended in a TKO. I started the fight with a couple jabs from the left to fly up with a right handed uppercut. He didn’t see it coming, he got about 7 hits landed, I had 27 landed and about 30 swung. I hit him in the right temple and that’s what caught him stumbling. His 7 or so hits weren’t even hard either he just wanted to get me to back up…

The summer before 7th grade I did a camp… a junior police camp in New Jersey, but I can’t start there. A few years prior we had met a nice family while vacationing in St. Maarten they had a daughter named Kylie who was around my age. We became very good friends almost immediately, but the only problem is they lived in New Jersey and I lived in Minnesota. Our families started going to St. Maarten every year at the same time together. One year the father, John asked me “Hey would you be interested in doing my junior police camp this summer”…

For me, it was not as serious as it could have been, unlike others who have experienced more physical or harsher verbal abuse by the bully. Fortunately, I was able to conquer my fears of going out and became more outgoing and did not let anything hold me back, whether I was playing sports or at work or just out with friends. Life is too short to be in constant fear or worry. When I got to high school I thought things were going to get worse, but because I was able to overcome, I achieved many of the goals that I strove to reach for like: getting high-honors all four years, winning two-state titles as a three-year starter in baseball, and making memories with friends that accepted me for who I am. In the end I do not regret anything and I believe that with the right support from family and friends anyone can learn to ignore the hate and strive to achieve anything they set their mind…
