My neighbors were white collar professionals. One neighbor was a Bank manager who had an in-ground swimming pool and allowed me to us it whenever I wanted too. Another neighbor was an Attorney who practiced law in New York city, I babysit his grandchildren. I went to many different social gatherings with his grandchildren when I was babysitting and when I was not. There was a neighbor that was a retired police officer from New York that was also the cousin of President Ronald Regan that I would visit every now and then. His wife was also a well renowned opera singer, Eileen Farrell. I spent the most time with a neighbor that was a retired VP from Johnson & Johnson. I also went to many different places with them when their grandchildren were visiting and when they were not. The coach of the basketball team was a lawyer from New Jersey that had seven children older and younger than me. Their middle child had down syndrome and was a very nice and smart young man that they treated no different then their other children. The father was also the little league coach. They owned over 100 acres of land that included baseball, basketball court, downhill and cross-country skiing, a pond to swim in and shore access for boating.
My home life was horrible with my mother, but I had these neighbors in my life that expanded my views on life, so I didn't follow in the same path I came from. I was exposed to so much more than most people experience in life at a very young
