After taxes, I would have only $1,855 a month which is not enough to complete my budget. When this happened, I would hopefully have some of that extra money to pick up the rest or pull from my savings. If this happened before I was able to have any sort of savings or backup money I could modify my budget to pick up the rest. The first thing I would pull from would be my dates section. The money needed to balance the budget would only be $74 which would not be hard to come up with. I would pull from my dates section as it would be the easiest to take from without many consequences and is rather large. The insurances and phone bill were placed at the top because they are the ones that would need to be paid first in order to keep things from getting out of hand. Also without a clothing allowance work could get very hard in the winter months or when clothes start to wear down. Netflix is placed in the middle, as having leisure time of some sort will save me from getting burned out. The church donation, savings, and emergency fund are placed at the bottom, not because they are unimportant because they are all payments that could be paid last or maybe skipped if need be without any huge repercussions. The consistent income makes a decent standard of living feasible. The difference between just a minimum wage and an actual living wage is whether one can actually survive based on their income alone. A minimum wage is the least amount, legally allowed by the government, that a company can pay an employee. This is not very high and would make it very hard to live and get by. A real living wage is much higher and offers a person a little bit of a buffer from living paycheck to paycheck and having to struggle to get by. A living wage is usually offered by a job that requires a little more. Whether it be a little more thinking, a little more hard work, or a little more skill. Usually, a job that pays just minimum wage does not require a lot, usually just a body to fill a position. Living on just minimum wage is extremely hard and usually will not raise a person/family above the poverty
