This is where all the hard work pays off. All of the late night walks, early mornings in the wash room, and the the hours spent in the cooler during the middle of the day. My dad gives me his yearly pep-talk and sends me off to the show ring when is about my turn to go in. As soon as I walked in I could already feel the pressure. After a few walks around the show ring, I patiently wait as he names the Grand and Reserve Champion steers. Then all of a sudden, he paces towards me and there I am! Walking towards the third overall slot with my family and friends cheering and crying and screaming in the background.
What makes the American Dream is hard work. All your work pays off in the end if you give it all of your heart, time, and sweat. I know that if I work as hard in life as I do with my cattle, I will make it anywhere. I will reach my american dream.
