Carnival Cruise: A Personal Narrative Of My Life

Improved Essays
When I was sixteen, my family and I decided we wanted to have an adventures summer. We wanted a summer that we would remember for the rest of our life’s, which was a cruise around the Caribbean Sea. The cruise was called Carnival Cruise which took sailed from Galveston to Cayman Island then to Jamaica, following Cozumel then back to Galveston. This cruise was a seven-day, six-night travel on a ginormous cruise ship that contained over three-thousand guest, not including all the workers and entertainers. In addition, my family and I will travel around Caribbean Sea to see the world and to create a memorable summer. Today’s the day, the day we head to Galveston, which is around three hundred and twenty-two miles which is around five and a half …show more content…
I thought the outside of the ship was amazing and beautiful, the inside was full of lights with a ginormous stair case leading to the top floors and of course a piano player playing music. All of a sudden, a cruise direct come up to us and says, “Good afternoon my names is Jessica and welcome to Carnival Cruise”. It’s kind of weird how I remember those exact words, but I will never forget. She then handed us a map of the whole cruise from the first floor all the way to very top of the ship which was the twenty-second floor. After that, I know that it was time to explore. Once, we finished talking to Jessica my family and I rushed to the nearest elevator. The first thing we did on the elevator was press the twenty-second floor which was the deck floor were there was pools, water slides, a humongous screen and least but defiantly not less was the giant buffet room. Well, since we had an hour travel to the ship and another hour on waiting to get on the ship, my family and I were starving. Walking into the buffet room was like walking in to a Golden Corral but fancier and a lot better. Firstly, we walked around the buffet to see what they were servicing, of course there was a section of Chinese cuisine. From special orders of ramen to oranges chicken, which is my favorite thing to eat in the world. So instead of continuously walking around to see other options, I headed start to the ramen station, this station contained many options like chicken, fish, steak, shrimp and even a vegie portion. My order was a mix of vegies shrimp and fish and a side of orange chicken with an eggroll. Eventually, I finished my whole meal and, in my head, I know that this trip was going to make me gain at least ten to thirteen pounds. Finally, we went to our room, the room was bigger than I expected, it contained two bund beds, a queen size

Sit back, buckle up, and get ready to scream because I love roller coasters. My family and I go to Cedar Point about every month in the summer, and my dad and I go and ride everything in the park. It is just so fun! The one thing I really like about roller coasters is that there are little rides for the youth kids also. My least favorite thing is when I am not tall enough to enjoy a ride, which doesn’t really occur anymore.…

I took advantage of the moment and the Officer Jose Garcia took me to a mini tour of the area. During the wait a citizen came to make a report, Officer Garcia did not use codes but asked her some questions and said it was a lost property report. She went to report that she had lost her wallet, she had forgotten it on the bus, she realized that she had lost it a day later and she waited a week to report it.…

I knew I couldn’t eat all the food I brought with me because I wanted to save it for the rest of the trip. We stopped and ate a nice, filling meal at eight o’clock at Cracker Barrel, and after that, we were off on the road again. After not getting enough sleep the night before, I had to get some sleep as we continued on our way to Orlando. I found a great place to sleep that was not crowded or had a seatbelt sticking out of it like the chairs did. And that special place that I found was the floor of the bus.…

While at first glance, David Foster Wallace’s “Shipping Out” describes the miserable tale of the author on a cruise ship for a week, however, it is actually a commentary on the underlying insidious nature of cruise ships and vacation services. During this period, the author is treated to a multitude of luxuries, including thorough cleaning services, high-class dining, and constant recreational activities provided by the cruise. However, the author grows increasingly unsettled as he realizes the extent the ship’s crew is willing to do in order to gain the validation and the satisfaction of their customers. Jennifer Volland’s essay “Stay: The Archetypical Space of the Hotel” is another work which describes the nature of similar vacation spots,…
