I tried to slash Barrett a few more times, and each try was unsuccessful. The main gaps in his armor were well covered up, and Barrett didn’t give me a chance to look for and exploit the minor ones. Every time my swords would connect with Barrett, the sabres would simply ricochet off without showing any visible effect on Barrett. I was once again dodging a hammer swing, this one aimed at my jaw, when I felt a blinding pain on my side. I immediately backed off to give myself some time to recover. There were black spots dancing in front of my eyes and I was swaying from side-to-side, hurt and off balance. I gently touched my side and quickly withdrew my hands, wincing at the pain of contact.
