When you stroll into an amusement park you should notice crowds of people and long lines. You should hear screaming, all the rides and pitchers pitching sales, right? Not in my case. The sun had just risen as we pulled into the empty parking lot with only the sight of the band members unloading from the yellow school bus. It was a very crisp morning so we waited in the warm car until they let us in. We finally were allowed to walk in and listen to eighth grade band perform their melodies. As we waited for the rides to officially open, Kylie told me it was going to be entertaining and enjoyable. When they finally let us in and I looked upon what would either be ridiculously exciting or terrifying, I knew the day was going to be one interesting …show more content…
“Hey what are you doing here?” I heard Kylie say. I turned around and saw her sister and her friends from the band. “Do you hear that?” I said as I tapped Kylie. The room we were in looked like an old shack with brown rope lining where the line was supposed to be. Soon Kylie could hear the noise too. “Yea I do!” she exclaimed. There were big barn doors blocking the ride from us. A line started and we knew that there was a ride in progress. We waited and waited and waited until finally they came out. We walked in and I was so intrigued! It was a big UFO shaped ride. There were lights on the ceiling that flashed white when the ride went. We found an empty spot. I was on the inside of the seat, Kylie on the outside near the little door. Her sister across from me and their dad across from Kylie. Then we started spinning and boom! The lights went out and that’s when the action started! We spun faster, faster, faster! The beeping became louder, louder, louder! Then the wind started. It blew our braids back and forth. The white lights flashed! We went sideways and I almost smashed Kylie to death. I tried to fight gravity, but I lost. When it was over we were crying from laughing and screaming so hard! “Well what next girls?” asked Kylie’s dad. “Ooo! Let’s go to the Prowler!” Kylie responded. “Yea! To the Prowler!” I replied. With that we were

Sometimes in life, one has to take chances. I was not sure of that until I strapped myself down in the scariest rollercoaster at Six Flags Fiesta amusement park. I am known for the "American System" and known as the "Great Compromiser," however I have accomplished and been through so much more than that. Born in 1777 in Hanover County, Virginia, I was exposed to American history since I was young. In 1797, I moved to Kentucky along with many others wanting to pursue careers in law and politics. My political career began in 1803 when I was elected to the Kentucky General Assembly then appointed to the U.S. Senate in 1806. I was Secretary of State under John Quincy Adams.…

The pain began slowly, pricking me with its sharp needles only while doing barre in ballet once a week. I ignored it, believing it to be normal, common discomfort that would soon go away, typical thoughts of a dancer whose entire sport is centered around “good pain”. Six months later, it had escalated to the degree that every step I took felt like an arrow to my knee. Dancing had become impossible, and it was determined that I should be taken to the orthopedist. The bland, brown and beige lobby became extraordinarily familiar as I waited two hours to be examined.…

Have you ever got to enjoy hot and ready breakfast in bed? Well, I have, on the day I got to go to Six Flags which to be exact was February the second, twenty-thirteen. Oh, the smell of apple wood honey bacon with two over-medium eggs with a hash brown intrigued with cheese and onions in the middle is the smell of breakfast at its finest. The morning was also a treat in itself with the view of the marvelous, enchanting sunrise and the bluebonnets that my family and I have planted in our backyard gave the right appearance for the new day. Now, this was a Saturday so there’s no school…

Overcoming Roller Coasters Everyone has an experience in their lifetime where they had certain expectations going into something, based on someone else’s thoughts or opinions that happened to be completely wrong. Sometimes it makes the experience better, sometimes worse. I personally had an event be completely different than my mind set, but in my case it was truly for the better. When I was in elementary school, my mother went on about the horrors of roller coasters, mainly ranting about news articles she stumbled across while online.…

The day seemed to drag on and on, as I waited, counting down the days to California. It was a humid, sunny afternoon down at the Alton pool, where I usually spend most of my summer days working as a lifeguard. Today was very different than most…. And maybe the reason why was because it was my last day of work before I flew off to the big L.A. Most days at the pool the time went by slower than any I have ever known, with the scorching hot sun burning my skin, and little kids yelling at their friends telling each other secrets or what they want to play next.…

When I was young, my sister and I never got along well. Neither of us were afraid to voice our thoughts, but we had opposite personalities, so that was an enormous complication. She would constantly whine whenever I practice the violin or piano that I was too loud and it was drowning out the music she was listening to. In return, I would always retort that her music was too loud and distracting. Well, I never actually called it “her music”: I referred to it as “garbage”.…

It was a beautiful, sunny day in Syracuse. I was spending time with my family during summer break, which is always my favorite time of year. No homework, no worries, absolutely no cares in the world, or so I thought at the time. We just arrived at the New York State Fair for our annual day of fun, and I was filled with the immense thrill that only a child of eleven years can truly feel when she sees all of the rides that she can possibly imagine just waiting for her to enjoy, and feel the wind rushing on her face. Skylar…

There was no time for a break, we were off to the next one. By “one”, I mean roller coaster, but this wasn’t just any other roller coaster, this was the Dragster. The record breaking, rapid and towering Dragster which was located at the amusement park Cedar Point, in Ohio. I watched my friends walk briskly in front of me anticipating the next thrill. We were walking with Baylee in front, Abby following her, Tiffany next, Megan after her, and Alyssa dragging behind with me.…

I had never had so much fun with obnoxiously loud carnival music blasting in my ears, small children stupidly goofing off in front of me, and the smell of food that was so greasy it made my stomach turn. Shortly after my dad and I had exited the carousel, it was time for us to leave the park.…

He proceeded, in an unclear jumbled up manner, stating the rules of the coming scare. I started laughing and questioned the clown on what he just said. While “rewinding” his words, we shrugged and followed him in. As he opened the door, it was an empty elongated room with the walls painted neon and fast strobing lights. We finally took our first steps in and suddenly the doors slammed shut.…
