Narrative Essay on a Meaningful Experience The drive was dreadful but it was worth it. We left Lemmon at about noon and didn’t arrive until nearly 11 PM. Our hotel was 6 stories tall, with a nice lobby, and very comfortable rooms, it was located by many cool restaurants and stores. In fact, right across the street was the largest Target store I had ever seen. Our main reason to go to Denver was to go and watch a Broncos game, a professional football game. But, we planned to improvise as our three day trip went along. The following includes some of what we did in Denver. The first day was all traveling after packing and my dad got off work. I tried to sleep but sadly I had been drinking coffee that morning so I was wide awake and couldn’t even partly zone off. It was rainy and just not totally great traveling weather. But I got used to it and found stuff to occupy me such as apps on my phone and music. The part that really took forever in my …show more content…
All of a sudden, BOOM the music started and the volume was increasing. The players ran on to the field as their names were announced. Fans were going wild, and the teams were getting hyped. I hadn’t really been anywhere like this before and it was amazing. But, this wasn’t the best part. The best part was seeing the Broncos tear apart the Cowboys offense and defense. Seeing the bad sportsmanship of the Cowboys fans was music to my ears. I wanted to rub it in, but I didn’t want to start a fight. So in all that is what I looked forward to on the way home back from the game. Being in Denver, was probably one of my top 10 best experiences in my life. Everything from the restaurants, the atmospheres, to the game was just

It was so loud you could not even hear the announcer and it was so bright you could not see the jumbo tron because of the sun's glare. The movie “Friday Night Lights” is based on a real life best seller “Friday Night Lights: A Town, A Team, and a Dream”, by author H.G. Bissinger. The movie’s setting takes place at Permian High School in Odessa, Texas in 1988 when the tension between races were still strong in some areas of the south. There is some focus in some areas of the film that has to do with racial tension and the ongoing conflict between the student body and the city as a whole. Even though desegregation had happened by the time the book was written and the film was made, the schools at times were still racially divided. I also felt the movie showed how this football program exploited their black athletes.…

My personal experience and take away from English 111 was what I expected it would be before I started the course. No, there was no “life changing” moment for me from this course and I honestly I can’t say I am a better or worse citizen for taking this class, but I can say my writing skills have improved, and that I feel more confident in my writing than prior to taking this course. Writing has and continues to be a challenge for me, I have no illusion that I will ever be a “perfect” or even a “good” writer for that matter, but because some of things I learned in how to prepare and to write an essay I feel I’m a much improved writer. Specifically the topics covered from the first module of this course help my development.…
