Personal Narrative: Gun Point Failure

Improved Essays
What would the typical American do at a gun point robbery? It was pass 7pm and the sun was dripping behind the hills, and the clouds were red like a pink lady apple. I learned from this experience that not material object is worth more than my life. I remember pulling up to the gas station with the music loud and with my ray bans on. It had a really funky smell to it, Due to all of the cigar pits that were around the parking

In High School we were sadly not taught about the May 4th shooting and as a High School history teacher that is something that I want to teach my students because it is such a big thing. At DKS is the first time I actually heard the story. A boy was very knowledgeable on the topic. I was told that the US guardsmen shot and killed 4 people and 1, a girl, was simple walking to class. He told us that prior to this date that there was ruckus due to a biker gang and they threatened a guardsmen and the guardsmen thought it was one of the students, however, at the May 4th center I learn that the guardsmen weren’t even at Kent state yet until after that date.…

Between the years 2000 and 2013 the amount of deaths by guns in America exceeded the amount of deaths caused by AIDS, drugs, wars, and terrorism combined. Even more shocking than this statistic is how unique this issue is to the United States. In the United States there are 29.7 homicides for every 1 million people.
