“When can we go back,” I said. “What are you talking about going back for we just got here,” replied my dad. “We've been out here fishing all day and we haven't even had a bite,” I said. I and my dad for the past five years have gone on a fishing trip to Hawaii. I always loved the trip, but this year it was different we were already halfway through the week-long trip and only been out fishing one day. To make things even worse we hadn't even had a bite all day. All I wanted to do was go back to the island and make up for the part of the day we lost trying to fish, but my dad, on the other hand, thought we should stay out here all day to make the most of it. Which I didn't get because it looked like we were the only one out here for miles. There …show more content…
When we finally noticed it it was too late. They had us at gunpoint and were searching the boat. “What are you guys looking for?” “Shut up,” the guy with sunglasses said. “Where is it,” the other guy said. He was clearly in charge of the whole thing. “I won't tell you,” my dad said in reply. “Dad what are they talking about,” I asked. Before my dad could answer they took him onto their boat and drove off, but not before making sure I wouldn't make it back to land and cut the fuel lines of the motor. So now I was stranded out off the coast of Hawaii. So I started to dig around the boat to see if there was anything to help fix the boat or get me back to the land. While I was searching for that I found a letter from my dad. It said to my son if you're reading this something very wrong has happened. Then it went on to explain that he had stolen something very important from a very wealthy brazilian family and that I need to contact this number he left at the bottom of the letter. So I called the number and this man picked up and I told him what happened when he told him to come over to his house. There was only one problem I was stuck on the boat with no way to get …show more content…
No one replied. “Well you see here this is my nuclear launch system. It can hack it to any country's nuclear missiles and launch them.” “Why would my dad steal that?” “You really don't know do you,” the man said. “No, I have no idea what you guys a talking about.” “Well boy your father isn't who he seems he is he's actually a secret government spy that takes out high valued targets like myself,” he said. I could tell he was starting to get impatient. He began speaking again, “I know this is a lot to take, but when your dad stole this from me he was smart enough to change the DNA scanner that opens the case and now that your dad is dead, we need you to open the case so we can hack into the United States nuclear missiles and blow them up. “I would never help you kill millions of innocent people.” “Okay if you don't help us then we will just kill you and then go and find your mom, I'm pretty sure she would be more than willing to help.” “Okay okay, I'll help you just leave her out of this.” “Deal, now open it.” I opened the case and they lied to me they had already been to my mom and she was

My previous camping trips I have taken in the past years have been memorable and full of hardship. I consider myself a very outgoing and adventurous person, that is why I go on crazy trips. Canoeing is my preferred way of traveling when touring lakes and rivers such as the Boundary waters and the Flambeau river. Major disadvantage of canoes is that they weigh up to 85 pounds. The weight matters being when crossing land to get to the next lake the canoe goes on your shoulders to carry it.…

Hawaii, the home of white sand beaches, pro surfing, hula dances, and warm weather. If I could move to any region within the United States, I would move to Hawaii with no hesitation. Hawaii contains a prestigious hospital and the opportunity to become a surfer. Both of which of which I have always dreamed of being a part in. Nothing would make me happier than becoming an orthopedic surgeon operating out of a Hawaiian hospital working on shark attack victims and other unlucky victims who need orthopedic repair, then go straight to the beach to surf and relax for the remainder of the day.…

Fishing with Coconuts It was 0215 on the twelfth day of February and our Arleigh Burke class guided missile destroyer was cruising the Indian Ocean. I was in the middle of a watch, patrolling the main deck. Feeling the effects of sleep deprivation and being nowhere close to the end of my watch, the night started to become routine. As I had done numerous times before, I swung open the hatch to the weather deck and began to step out and into the pitch-dark night. By an unfortuitous coincidence, at the same time I took my first step out, a surging swell hit the opposite side of the ship and threw me over the side of the lifeline.…
