Observation In High School

Everyone always says be careful when you're around a sharp object. Or be careful when you’re around someone with a sharp object. I finally learned my lesson, but not in the way you would expect. It was a warm fall day. I just got dropped off at my house from the school bus. I live with my dad and brother Brandon. I live in a smaller, light blue house with 159 acres of land. While my brother Brandon and I were getting off the bus, I saw my dad outside in the front yard picking up sticks and twigs. As the bus drove away my dad came up to me and Brandon and asked if we could help with picking up the front and back yard before he was going to mow the lawn. So Brandon and I hurried up inside and put all our school stuff in our rooms, and got changed into more relaxed clothes knowing we were going to be outside at least for a good hour of so. If you were wondering, the reason my brother Brandon and I were hurrying up to get outside and help our dad was because our dad gets a little impatient if we are late to whatever, or wherever we need to be. …show more content…

While observing in Beth Johnston’s First Grade classroom at Eugene Field Elementary School, I have noticed some effective and ineffective classroom management practices that she uses while I have been in the classroom. One effective classroom management technique that I have observed is that Mrs. Johnston puts her student’s desks into groups of three or four. This is an effective technique because she puts her strong students with her not as strong students, which can help with the students who might need a little help staying on track with the lesson that they are supposed to get done. Also, Mrs. Johnston has changed the groups a couple of times since I have been observing in the classroom. This I believe is effective because the students…

My observation of Ms. de la Fuente’s 5th grade class this week started after lunch during their math time. On Wednesday, their schedule had been different from normal and there was two other teachers in the classroom teaching them about different types of rocks. On Thursday, a sixth grade math teacher came to the classroom to further explain what they had been learning about conversions, and to tell them about what they would learn next year when they went to sixth grade.. During arrival in the morning and dismissal in the afternoon, the same routine is followed on almost all days. In the morning, the students go wait in the gym and are picked up by the teacher when the first bell rings.…

Extended school year was an option I had heard discussed during IEP meetings in my fifteen years of experience, but today I was able to observe one of these classrooms in action first hand. The lesson I observed took place at a small group table with the teacher leading the lesson, a paraprofessional providing one on one support to one student, and a nurse supporting another student who is using a Tobii for communication. The teacher began the lesson by introducing a set of five sight words. The teacher then read the words aloud, gave a simple meaning, provided a sentence with the word, and the students traced the words with their fingers.…

I am an outside person I have been since I could remember, when I would go outside you would usually find me in the pool or over in the Lot and in the Creek. The creek was and still is really fun, walking up and down finding cool stuff and making stick weapons and pretending to fight in the army. The Creek was fun, but it was also scary at night when you could hear stuff moving, but you couldn 't see it, but despite the scariness of the Creek I ended up having some of the best times there when I was a kid. The best well, maybe not the best, but the most memorable time was the time where me, my dad, and my brother (which I didn 't want to come) went to the creek and we were going to walk to the “all the way”. The “all the way” was the point…
