September 11, 2001, had went from a normal day in New York City, to a tragedy. The day had started out sunny and warm with the birds singing, but it had all went down hill very quickly. The early morning was a blur for long time firefighter, Shane. It's now mid-afternoon, and all that's on his mind is finding and saving the helpless victims of the attacks, with the rescue dog owned by the fire department, Corny. People covered every inch of the street, making it seem like Black Friday, but this was no sale or shopping event. It was a catastrophic disaster. Some of the people were firefighters, others were people who were looking for loved ones. Shane and Corny looked around for people who needed help. However, the ground was filled with debris. The sky was filled with smoke.

Corny attempts to dig through the trash covered ground and find the frightened people. It was difficult to find people when the ground was covered in debris, and even when Shane and Corny did find people, many of them were injured and some dead. Shane and Corny saved many of the injured people, yet Shane couldn't help but think that it wasn't enough. While Shane and Corny search through the rubble, a tired looking girl, who appeared to only be around 12 years old, approached them. "Please, help me! I can't find my little brother! He's only 10!" The girl exclaimed, tears running down her dirt covered face.
After those words escaped the girl's mouth, Shane's heart stopped. This place was disastrous and definitely no place for a child. The ground was covered in glass and nails. Not to mention the fire that was still burning is many places. However, despite his heartache he knew he had to stay calm for the sake of the young girl. "I need you to stay calm. What's your name?" Shane questions.
