Kong The Adventurous “Thank you Mom but I can do it on my own.” My mom glanced back at me with a blank expression. “KONG! You can do somethings on your own, I know you can, but somethings… you are just too young of a unicorn.” My mom explained to me firmly. “I guess!” I confessed.
Me and my parents live together in a magical place known as Uni-Landia, where all the amazing unicorns of the world live. Me and my family live outside (like all unicorns do) right off of Rainbow Dash Street. The majestic Uni-Landia is only made of candy and rainbows. There’s delicious cotton candy trees with chocolate trunks, the rainbows are really just scrumptious Rainbow Airheads candy and all we eat is sweet, sugary candy.

It… It… It was… DUM DUM FLOWERS! Freshly picked! I ran back to my land panicking and searching the area one more time for my parents. “MOM! DAD! WHERE ARE YOU!?” I screamed. Sure enough, they were nowhere to be found. I knew this only meant one thing, my parents were uni-napped by an evil unicorn from the other side! I knew I had to save them. I packed my bags and headed for the Evil Rainbow. When I got to the terrifying rainbow, I placed one hoof on the horrible, no good Evil Rainbow then slowly lifted another and carefully sat it down, then did the same with all four of my unicorn hooves. I headed on my way across the huge mystical rainbow, each step scarier than the last. It took the rest of the tiring day to travel across the whole rainbow. I found a cozy spot at the end of the rainbow to get a good night's sleep for the terrifying adventure ahead of me.
The next morning I woke up and headed on my adventure. Past the crippling forest, around the twisting grass and through the dark caves following the dum dum flower trail til it led me to a very interesting place. There was crackling bricks and twirling vines as if it was an old, old castle but in the middle of the woods. The dum dum flower followed into the pitch black darkness of the castle. I knew I had to follow

As a child, my parents shaped me into their ideal image of a little girl. The formation of their ideals actually started long before I first opened my eyes in the hospital. My story began back in 1988, when my parents met while working at Walt Disney World as cultural exchange workers from Canada. Their romance is a fairy tale. They had their first date at the Magic Kingdom, they spent all their days off on a Florida beach, and they experienced the technical magic that Disney is so well-known for.…

Most people have read or heard of the stories of Cinderella or saw a movie of the traditional princess story which always seems to have the same cliché “happily ever after ending.” In the poem “Cinderella,” written by Anne Sexton, she switches up the old-fashioned mythical story by adding in a touch of mockery and telling the story with her sense of reality. Sexton’s sarcastic tone being used in the poem causes the readers to identify and get a sense of the message the version of her story gives. The use of the satirical undertone and added wit gives life to the poem and changes the reader’s expectations of the traditional story. Anne Sexton modernizes the Cinderella story and uses irony to poke fun of the fairytale in order to change the audience’s views on the myth of always living happily ever after.…
