Whether humankind was created by a holy power or evolution; somewhere, somehow, we were given the power to adapt. Human kind survives because of adaptability and I will achieve my goals by nourishing my inner versatile seed that was planted in all of us at birth. The most successful and powerful people ever lived were also the most adaptable people that lived. I am a foreigner from Iran. At the age of 12 my family and I immigrated to the United States. My father was one the most elite Estimators to work in Iran’s Petroleum industry with only a high school diploma. He sacrificed all the pride and reverence that he had gained during his career in Iran, so my little sister and I can have the freedom and joy that he had never encountered. I learned to speak English on a level which after two years, telling people my origin would bring an astonished expression to their faces. I learned to deal with banks, insurance companies and, work over the phone all at the age of 13 in order to keep the family going forward. Through out this period the culture shock had the biggest impact on my mother which put her into a 3 years long depression. During high school I earned $1,000 every month through an advertising job, played football, and taught at Iranian School of San Diego. In the beginning of my junior year in high school I suffered a broken wrist injury in a football game which caused two surgeries on my dominant hand and a full arm cast for two years which inhibited my ability to write, making high and stable GPA a big challenge for me. I still haven’t got the cast removed but I believe in, “ what doesn’t kill you will make you stronger.” Struggles will end leaving us only the experiences to learn
