Then Mrs. Van Daan has the audacity to take up the the dirty no-good thief. Saying that the man was bigger than the rest of us so he needs more food. What a fallacy, that food should go to the children, they are becoming thinner everyday and sometimes moan in their sleep from hunger. In My anger i told them that I wanted them out if the annex. That I would pay for their hiding spot, but until they found a place Mr, Van Daan was not allowed in the kitchen. His food would be prepared and brought to him in his room. I wanted Peter to stay here because I cared about the children and their welfare. However he saying the he would go with his father and mother because he wouldn’t feel right about staying here. Sometime during my ranting Mr. Dussel had starting dividing up that last if the rotten potatoes and Meip has rung the buzzer in her special tone. My husband insisted that we stop so Meip wouldn’t see us in such a state.
We didn’t hear her come in but when she did she had fabulous news. The Allies had invaded, somewhere in Normandy she said. She had heard about it on the BBC. At this we stop then Peter get a frying pan and parades around the room singing the Dutch national anthem, Anne and Margot joining him. She said that Eisenhower and Churchill were calling it D-Day. Tgen Goes hurriedly out, saying that this would be better than any blood transfusion for Mr. Kraler and Mr. frank follows to blot the door.
