Narrative Essay About We Are Not Alone

Superior Essays
We aren’t alone in the universe. Nope, not even for a moment in all of our existence have we been alone. Because all life, both those that have gone extinct and the ones lucky enough to still be around. Have always been accompanied by beings outside of your imagination…. Now the bad news.

The beings that have always accompanied us? Yeah, they aren’t friendly. They feed upon our flesh, our minds, and sometimes, they feed on our very souls.

What are these creatures and how do I know this? You may ask…. Well, they, are demons. Creatures hidden in the deepest recesses of our hearts just waiting for the opportunity to emerge and wreak havoc on any who cross their paths.

As for how I know this? That’s simple….

I’m one of them.

My name is Kai

“Yes.” I zipped my bag shut and quickly walked away from the desk and out the library door.

“Ok! I’ll be here when you get back!” I heard her yell as I shut the door behind me.

I tried to calm myself down as I walked down the hallway to the bathroom, but every step I took seemed to cause the ice cold chill to perforate my body. I increased my walking speed until I was almost running down the hall, but, because my luck is even worse than I like to admit. Just before I pushed open the door to the bathroom, someone pushed me from behind causing me to fall into the door and hit my head. Then, they grabbed my hair and pulled me away from the door, pulled it open, then they pushed me inside and locked the door behind them.

I shook off the haze slamming into the door had caused, then I turned to see who’d pushed me.

But a fist was the only thing I saw, and that was simply because it was slamming into my left eye. My head was knocked to the side, then I was pushed again. I tried to catch myself on one of the sinks, but I lost my footing on the linoleum flooring and I landed on my back.

“What did I tell you, Kai?” A cold voice asked from somewhere to my left. Thankfully, it was a voice I

I told you to stay away from her and yet, not only did you not stay away from her, but your what? Flirting with her in the middle of the library? Are you purposefully trying to piss me off!? Huh!?” He yelled as he reached down and pulled me to my feet by my shirt, then he slammed me into the wall.

“Answer me!” He spat.

“Ok, Ok!” I raised my arms up to protect my face. “I wasn’t flirting with her-” A punch to my stomach knocked the wind out of me and caused me to fall to my knees. He grabbed me by the hair and lifted my head up, so I could look him in the eyes.

His dark skin was flushed with anger and his normally cheerful brown eyes appeared as slits in my blurred vision.

“Don’t lie to me.” He hissed.

“I’m not, I swear!”

He glared at me for a few more seconds, then he growled and slammed my head into the tiled wall behind me.

My head bounced off the wall and I fell forward onto my stomach. I covered my head with my hands and tried to make myself as small as possible in case he hit me again… But he didn’t. Instead, he growled and said.

“Stay away from my sister.”

Then he walked over to the door, unlocked it, and pulled it open.

“I mean it, Kai. If our friendship ever meant anything. If you truly do care for her… Then you’ll stay away.” After saying his piece, he walked out the door and left me lying on the bathroom floor with tears running down my
