The Trifecta My family impacts my life everyday. The words they say, as well as their actions, influence my thoughts, actions, and opinions. They also challenge me to find my own ideas and believe what I do, not what they do or what I’ve heard. Everyone has people in their lives who affect them in some way. My mother, my aunt, and my grandma all influence me to find my own way just by being around me. To begin, my mother, Shelly, is an amazing woman. I’m sure most people would say that about their mothers, but I want it to be known that she truly is my hero. Her life has been far from easy, and we haven’t always had the perfect relationship. In fact, we bicker a lot, and our interactions aren’t always positive. However, we do have good times and good talks, and I’m more than happy that we can do that with each other. There are times where we play games or watch movies together. I cherish those times because they don’t happen often. They help my mom and I communicate in …show more content…
She’s been a key factor in my childhood and my mom’s life, though my aunt is seven years younger than my mother. My aunt became a social worker, inspired by the lives throughout my family, including that of my mom and myself. She has started back up with her private practice and loves her job, and she gets to help people make their lives better and easier to handle, just like she’s done and continues to do with my mom and me. I love her passion and how much she cares. Sometimes, she cares so much that it affects her thoughts and her life away from work. That’s not always good, but it just goes to show how genuine she is about her career and the people in it. She is great to have as a guide and really does help if you do what she suggests. I know from experience. My aunt is a great person, kind, loving, caring, and determined. Her actions and accomplishments help drive me to do the best I can, which usually includes

Family is important to American Identity and keeps people tightly bound together. My family helps me by sacrificing and dedicating time, helping me become a better person. My family can also affect my feelings and mood. Like in this quote from “Rules of the Game”. “Each morning before school, [Waverly’s] mother would twist and yank on [Waverly’s] thick black hair until she had formed two tightly wound pigtails”. This shows that Waverly’s mother wanted her to look and be her best every day, which sacrifices time. Yet another example of how family sacrifices for people they love.…

My family has been one of the significant impacts on my life. I was raised in what I would call an average household. My family has always consisted of a mother, father, and two brothers. My parents are still married and they have been since before I was born. We have always been part of the “middle class.” This can be looked at as both a hindrance and an advantage. The hinderance is that my parents have always provided for me. I cannot remember a time when I was without something that I needed. My parents provide my basic necessities and for the most part all that I want. Yes, I have a job, but I do not have to worry about any payments or bills. All of the money that I earn I get to keep for myself or spend…

My family, is always close to each other and sharing personal things with one another. We then use that to help them in a certain way. The way differs every time, and from every person. Family is always first with my culture, we are always there when someone is in need. When my mom was pregnant, and in the hospital, her sisters would come to watch us since she couldn’t. That's just one example of this but there’s many more.…

From birth my mom has always had it tough. My mother’s parents were very strict because of her cerebral palsy and she became very deviant, as she got older. Having such little understanding about cerebral palsy at the time my mother was constantly labeled as “different.” She lashed out often because no one understood her. After her mother died at age 21 she was kicked out of her home and was homeless. Being alone and having to find a job full time became very stressful for her, which led to her ongoing drug abuse. After having me my mother would struggle for the next 18 years with raising a child and dealing with her own battles. My mother never had access to the resources social workers can provide such as housing so she was never able to get the help she needed. This has led to our ongoing daily life struggle that I have become very thankful for. Although my mother and me have not always been in the best situations my mother has always been my mentor and encouragement. She has pushed me to go to college, and she has helped shape me into the independent hard working young woman I am…

She has an outstanding relationship with her mother. I feel a great deal of connectedness with her and my mother is a very inviting and warm person. People sometimes become jealous of our bond, even my dad. She is the driving force behind all of my achievements in life. We are attentive and respect each other’s needs. We also provide comfort and reassurance for each other during times of distress. We have share the ability to have confidence in each other when we do not have it within ourselves. I believe my mother is the secret to all of my successes in life. My mother says her love and devotion to her children and people stems from the distaste of how she was treated growing…

Imagine, standing at the edge of your 50 story penthouse suite encased in glass paneling as you gaze into the night’s darkness, brightly lit by the buildings of your wonderful city. You think to yourself how did I get here? What did I do to get here? You slowly sip on wine and reminisce on your past events. You think back to the beginning and how it all started; you remember your mom teaching you different things and always believing in you. You are so caught up with your fast paced, luxurious life that you have not talked to your mom in over three years. Sick and depressed your mom worries about you from home and wants to know what is happening in your life; she hopes you are staying true to what she taught you. In life, we all have a mother and occasionally we do not give them the appreciation and respect…

Family members typically will tell you what they think of you leaving little doubt of how they view you, but even though their opinions are communicated to you directly I believe we all still use that little voice in our head to influence us in how we think our family members view us. The five strongest influence for me would be my immediate family member, but there is also the co-workers throughout my life that have contributed to developing my self-concept that influenced many of my professional…

My Family plays a big part on how I see other people and society. My religious views were also shaped by my family. I was raised catholic, but I never once heard my mom speak ill on other religious and their followers. She always made me feel like I could pick what I wanted to believe in. My mom’s lack of education always caused her to influence me to pursue a higher education for myself. She would always say this “I didn’t cross the desert six…

Any time I needed someone to proofread a paper, help me with math, or just sit down and talk about my problems, she was there. She has never told me I am not capable when others have. She has encouraged me in everything I have set my mind to do, whether it is big or small. When I entered high school, she essentially followed my class in the transition over. She became my IEP teacher when I got here, and again she helped me with whatever I needed. She did everything in her power to make sure I passed all five parts of the OGT, which was something I was afraid I couldn't…

She is adamantine on us, because she want for us to be able to have the life that she wasn’t able to have. I also believe that my aunt is wise. For an example, when I failed my quiz and I feared the risk of what could happen, she redirected my thinking and told me to talk about it with my teacher. I was able to retake the test because of the advice that my aunt had gave to me. She knows exactly what to say when I am going through a difficult time. My aunt has an unbelievable work ethic; she is always toiled and striving to be the best at her job. She never waits for someone to hand her something, but instead earns it for herself. At times, I can see how the task maybe difficult, but she never gives up. This is why I believe that my aunt is a hard worker with a great work ethic. My aunt Diana also has a similar outlook on life as my aunt Norma, her mindset is “be thankful for waking up another day.” She is always upholding and contributing love to those around…

My mother just vanished overnight it seemed. The worst part was the thing that I never thought would happen in a million years did, indeed, happen: a man won my mother's heart, and she completely changed. No matter how much it hurt me that my mother now had a boyfriend and changes were being made, a life lesson occurred, and I learned it is time for me to grow up and stop lacking self-responsibility, pay my bills, and stop relying on her for everything, from bills to even my emotions. Life changes happen, whether we like them or not, but once they happen, I realized it was in my hands if I decided to move forward or choose to let it hold me back…
