Narrative Essay About The Scariest Day

Improved Essays
Hey! I’m Harmony… Lucky for me, I’m a twin and I have a sister named Melody! We love to camp and do things outdoors. Last summer, in late June I experienced the scariest day...of my LIFE! We went desert camping with our parents and brought along our annoying cousin Dorothy! We got got to the desert and set up camp and went to bed for the night. Our parents had a huge campfire and stayed up way later. The next morning the fire was all gone when we got up and put our gear on so we could ride our dirt bikes and ATVs. We couldn’t wait to race through the desert!

“This is awesome!!” I yelled to Melody and Dorothy.

“I know!” Dorothy yelled back.

We were having so much fun and got a little crazy. Melody took a turn too fast and

“Oh she is! This could be bad we better go help her.”

When we got there we checked to see that she was alright. Thankfully she was, besides the cut she got on her hand. It was due for a good cleaning but no big damage.

Back at the campsite we took a moment to admire our little home for the weekend. There were chairs and blankets all over and it smelled like smoke because of the campfire that had burned all night. It was dusty and dirty, but we loved it. We couldn’t wait to make s’mores that night and curl up by a fire again. Little did we know the turn the day would take.

Our plans were changed quickly when the breeze turned into a really windy day, and then a crazy sandstorm. Suddenly, all we could see was sand and we could barely open our eyes. We put on our riding goggles and helped the adults who were rushing around grabbing everything from blowing away.

When we gathered up everything we could, we all got in the trailer and decided it was a good time to wait out the storm and play on our tablets. My parents went to take a nap and fell asleep. Dorothy was very annoyed to realize her phone was still in the car from the drive out to the desert. She put on her goggles and ran outside into the sandstorm to get her things from the car. We watched her disappear into the cloud of sand. We couldn’t see much and she was taking forever so we all went back to what we were

Halloween is like a horror movie, except with drunk teenagers instead of axe murders. It was about two years ago, when we were still living in Germany. It was a fairly peaceful Halloween night and the sun was about to set. My friends and I were walking around the village, what Germans call a town. After about half an hour of us walking around and talking, some acne filled, tall, muscular and older, German teenagers came up to us.…

My “personal odyssey” occurred relatively recently, this past summer while I was at a sleepaway camp in New Hampshire. The last year you are eligible to come, the summer before your sophomore year, you stay in a cabin off the main camp called Cabin 12, which holds great significance due to the fact that you’re the oldest on campus, and closer to a counselor then a camper. Being engaged, on time to activities, and having extreme enthusiasm to an almost unbearable point. I was exposed to a concept, one in which you see more clearly when you grow up. This idea is embodied in the quote, “fake it ‘till you make it.”…

Day of the Dead and Halloween are both very similar but different holidays. Although, based on most of the information and background knowledge I know about both holidays I believe they are more different than similar. I believe the holidays are more different than similar because they express two completely different reasons for being celebrated. The first topic that shares either a similarity and difference for both holidays is the variety and types of food that are being offered and handed out.…

Could you ever imagine waking up one day and everything was different? Not being able to be sprawled out in your perfectly good bed each morning, but waking up in various locations for protection. Having to carry some sort of weapon every time you go outside just in case you run into a pack of zombies looking for fresh flesh. This all seemed too much and it was only my first year at Missouri State. A zombie apocalypse was not something I expected from college, especially to be one of the few survivors’ left on campus.…
