I remember like it was just yesterday , entering the 6th grade at Young Middle School. When I first got there, I didn't know anyone. That morning we entered the gym sitting by grade levels. The teachers told us to stay in there for an assembly. As we waited for the guest speakers , all I could hear was the JCY pep band playing school spirit songs.The energy that the band had made me what to join.
The next day, I was sitting in the office and I saw the band director Mr. Jefferey come in. As he clocked in, I continued to sit there. He walked over to me and said “Fefe you know how to play an instrument .” I said “yes” “what do you play” said Mr. Jefferey . I replied “Trombone”. So he looked at me and said “oh really ,you get down with the T-bone ? I responded “I know how to play a little bit “, so he said “follow me “. We left the office and went to the band room. From that point I knew that everything I did was being judged. Now I have been holding my section leader title for 3 years and it has really improved my attitude towards the way I view negative things. When we are not doing so good I look at it on the positive side.It has shown me that you when you put your best in all that you work for, you get a better outcome. I believe that having a leadership position will have a major impact in my future. I could some day become an awesome leader in a sorority or
