Personal Narrative: Reaching The Class Of Elite

Imagine living in a world where everyone’s goal in life is supposed to be to reach the class of Elite. What happens when you reach the top?
The answer is nothing. There is nothing else to do, so life is boring. I mean why should someone have to continue after they reach their ultimate goal.
When I was younger I thought reaching this state meant paradise since that is how it was advertised. If you find paradise to be a luxurious home then you found it.
I went through multiple, thrilling challenges set up my homeland’s league to test me. Now I won the right to live in the Elite castle and mingle with the other Elites.
I was in the courtyard when the newest Elite approached me. A person that could not be a day over sixteen. The same age I

I boredly told them there would be no more adventures. Once you reach this state you are done.
The teen looked at me in horror at the thought of that fate. They made a face similar to me when I learned the truth of this place. Eternal boredom in the disguise of Paradise.
I remembered hoping the other elites were wrong. I explored the castle hoping for a mystery or someone to help. Sadly the castle had nothing to satisfy my adventure needs.
Over these two years I decided to accept my fate. My years of adventure were over and this castle was my new home.
The energetic teen who seemed like he was wilting suddenly sprung up. He apologized for not introducing himself and enthusiastically stated his name was Kai.
I was filled with surprise that Kai’s eyes were burning with a new fire. He asked me if I still longed for adventure outside of the castle’s wall.
With determination and enthusiasm I didn’t know I had, I strongly agreed I did. He smirked and asked me how I felt about leaving.
I stared at him with slight confusion. There is nothing to do within the castle or outside of its wall in our homeland.
The younger teen quietly suggested to me an idea that had never crossed my mind. He wanted me to leave our

She was excited because I promised we could explore the forest around our grandfather’s cabin.
She was impatiently waiting while I reminded my partner where we were going. I also had to double check if I had my phone and snacks.
The minute I said we were ready she was out the door. I ran after her with bursts of laughter bubbling out of me. I waved at my amused parents as I ran off.
We went far from our little cabin on our mini adventure. We decided to take a little break in a giant meadow we found on our journey.
We had a little snack and then decided to explore the meadow more. My sister ran off a little and I warned her not to go far.
She yelled back a promise to do that. I smiled as I heard her delighted laughter and running footsteps. I turned my back for a moment to look at a couple of rabbits I found.
When I focused on the rabbits, I realized something was wrong. Their pair of ears were lifting and tilting in a certain direction. They stomped their feet and fled the meadow.
I heard my sister’s innocent giggles shift to suddenly to an eerie silence. I turned back around quickly and looked at the site that greeted me with a horror filled

There's not much i remember from when i was young, But i remember meeting a guy named Drewe when i was 10 or 11, He was tall for his age with short brown hair and Hazel eyes. He sat next to me and he was pretty funny so we quickly became friends, as we got to know each other better we realized we liked pretty much the exact same things and got along very well. We lived fairly close to each other so we spent a lot of time back and forth between houses. I leaned into the open car window. “I’m just going to check out the house and try to get some reading done by the pond, Mom.” The summer assignment, after all, was to read Thoreau’s Walden, and what better place to do it than at Walden Pond? “Don’t go too deep into the forest, Viola.” That’s what my father had always told me. All the adults in the village said the same thing, so it seemed like a platitude said to children who wanted to play in the forest. The wind blew, making my skirt and golden braids sway. Holding the hair out of my eyes, I looked up.…

I don’t remember a time before it came along. The memories go all the way back to foam gingerbread houses and terribly constructed ornaments put together by three kids too young to tie their own shoes. Even to this day I wait in anticipation for it because it is always something fun; something happy. It’s a tradition I always hoped would never fade, but sometimes new traditions come to mix with the old and soon you can’t recall of a moment when they weren’t in tandem. Two years ago one more tradition was added to our little Christmas affair and a year after that something extraordinary happened because of it.…

Life is like a game of poker. In poker everyone is dealt the same number of cards from the same deck. Some are lucky and get a Royal Flush, some get a Straight, and some are only given a hand which consists of a High Card. Life is the same way except instead of diamonds; clubs; spades and hearts, everyone is dealt a certain level of “education, income, occupation, and wealth, the four commonly used criteria for gauging [social] class” (Scott and Leonhardt 117). Not all of us are able to choose our education, income, occupation and wealth, we are just given our hand and we have to make do with what we have.…
