During the fall, the Scholastic book fair was at my Mambrino elementary school and everyone was excited about it. Especially me. The book fair only lasts for a week and had many books but more importantly in my 7-year-old brain, had toys to buy and play around with.
Too bad I didn't have any money on hand during the first trip to the book fair in the library. It frustrated me to know others in the class group had the exhilarating amount of $5 that I didn't have.

My second “best” idea was just to grab some of a toy’s novelty slime and cram the goo in my pant’s pocket. Most of the toys had no protection plastic seals to defend them from the grubby hands of the small second graders.
Mainly mine. I thought I was being sneaky while scooping out the sticky slime from its small container. I did what any dumb child would do in the situation. I just clinched the green fake goo tightly between my tiny thieving hands and kept my hands together. The class continues to look around of what was being sold as I around as well. Trying to pretend as if I was thinking of buying a book or a toy even though I have what I wanted in my hands. This repetition of staring at objects for sale continued until it was time to leave as a class. I grew anxious as we went towards the mighty exit and to my relief, my stolen goo wasn't noticed by staff. I held the slime close to me but near my side of my right leg. I only did this to not raise much suspicion of my stolen part of a toy. I arrived back to class with the rest of the other children as we made her way to the middle of the carpeted floor.
