Thanksgiving
Every 4th thursday of November my family is very thankful even though sometimes it can end up bad in the middle of the day. It is usually the older kids that ruin things because when me and my cousin are playing football they ruin our game on purpose. They usually do it before we're going to go and eat. Every thanksgiving day we meet up with or family members at one of my uncle’s house and have a thanksgiving party. We always invite friends to come over. So we can play with them when were playing football. My Tia’s yell at us for going in the kitchen when the food isn’t ready yet or if we go in there 2 time s we get hit with whatever they have in the hand or just there hand .
In the middle of the day my family likes to play football. Everytime we play 5 or 6 people get hurt and start crying. I only make 2 people get injured every time we play and it’s always the same people getting hurt. Usually we just tell them to sit out but they don’t listen to us. We usually play in the street every time we play. We always hate when cars come through and ruin are game. We just wait until someone gets tackled end then move when the car starts honk at us my cousin’s yell at them and say wait and if they pull the window down and talk my cousin’s get mad and go up

Although things don’t go right in thanksgiving we try are best to make it fun as possible. By putting games activities and making us do obstacles and giving us prizes. It was Thanksgiving morning and I was pretty excited because I knew that day I was going to eat a lot of delicious food. I woke up that day to help my mom make some tamales that we always make when there’s some type of holiday. The whole house had that tamale smell once we were all done with them. A few hours past and it was almost time to go to my aunt's house where we were having our Thanksgiving dinner at.…

The next morning we all get up and early around nine in the morning to finish all of the food and set up the dinner table. We usually finish everything around noon and then we are ready to eat. Many of our family members and friends from both sides of my family come over to eat with at my home. Before we eat, we pray and each of us announce what we are thankful for this year. We then all sit around the table and eat.…

Every year on Thanksgiving break I have gone to my grandparents house to stay for the week. For me this is important because my grandparents live a good ways away and I barely get to see them. This became a tradition when I moved away from where they live because that's when our other traditions ended like on wednesdays we used to meet somewhere and eat dinner but we can’t do that any more so we thought that Thanksgiving break is a good time to go see them because we have off school and they can get off work. The whole time we are up there we laugh cook and have fun together.…

What traditions do you have for Thanksgiving? When Thanksgiving comes to mind, people often think of pilgrims and the Native Americans. However, Thanksgiving was created to give thanks to God for all of the things he has given us, by President Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War. It is a way for families to come together and give thanks. However, the way that families celebrate the holiday differs from family to family.…

Have you ever noticed how in the stores you will see a plethora of Halloween costumes, decorations and the like but immediately following Halloween, you see Christmas themed decorations all over and very little to commemorate Thanksgiving? The most I've seen have had leaves and maybe a cornucopia and really only enough scattered throughout the store to fill a half to one whole aisle. It seems that our national holiday is only truly named and observed within "leaked" black friday ads, alerting you to when the advertised deals start. This never really bothered me in the past. As a little girl Thanksgiving was all about the Macy's Parade, the dog show, food, and the countdown until santa claus and presents galore.…

Last November, a week before Thanksgiving, I was listening to the morning radio talk show The Woody Show and the hosts were talking about how excited they were for the Thanksgiving feast. They all went around and shared what was their perfect meal for that day. It ranged from fried turkey, to stuffing, cornbread, green bean casserole, and towards the end the hosts argued about cranberry sauce. However, they all agreed that pumpkin pie was essential to the perfect meal. I found it very interesting that while they argued about the way the meal was executed, they all agreed on the basic components to the meal-I didn’t.…

The anticipation for Thanksgiving break is over the top. The thought of home cooked meals, family, and no professors talking a student 's ear off for a week are heavenly. Of course all the classic thanksgiving things happen but there are also psychological things that go on. (Darn that psychology sneaking its way into everything, it obviously never goes on break.) Although psychology is used every minute of every day i 'm only going to talk about 5 concepts, persuasion, cognition, emotion, personality, and the self.…

If you do not have time, then you can easily change your schedule, making the stress fall off your shoulders. Activities like these can be very fun to do, and they are much safer. Some people might argue, “You can get in a car crash, but that doesn’t stop you from driving in a car.” Though, cars and roads are much more organized than sports. In sports, you can randomly get tackled and thrown to the ground.…
