I was very excited to be promoted to eight grade. On the night before my first day of eight grade, I met each one of my teachers. Their names were: Mrs. Conley, Ms. Stock, Mr. Hanes, and Mrs. Foreman. Mrs. Conley was my math teacher and Ms. Stock was my Physical Science teacher. Also, Mr. Hanes was my Georgia Studies teacher and Mrs. Foreman was my English/Language Arts teacher. I …show more content…
I would often call it the big, yellow cheese. I wanted my parents to take me, but I had no choice. Once, I made it to school I went to breakfast. As I walked through the lengthy line, all I could see was every color of the rainbow. Every student had on a different color shirt. When I finally was able to get a tray, I ran into my one of my friends. She had looked very different since seventh grade. Her hair grew very long. Once I finished my breakfast, I walked to my classroom. I felt a wave of nervousness hit me as soon as I walked in the class. The class had their eyes all on me. Eventually I warmed up to the class, and I wasn’t as nervous. I ended up having a great day when school was over. As the days progressed, I didn’t have as many great …show more content…
Finally, I encountered a group of people on the playground. They appeared to be good people but eventually I realized that they weren’t good people at all. The third week of school the group of friends and I had got in trouble. One of my friends had got into a major argument with her best friend and it caused the whole group including myself to split up. After this incident happened my consciousness told me to remove myself from those people. Instead, I didn’t listen to my consciousness and continued to surround myself by them. The next day our teachers let us have a whole free day of doing absolutely no work. So all of my teachers agreed to let us play outside until it was lunch time. When we got out there, one of my girls who split up from the group, ran up and hit my friend whom she got into an argument with. At that moment they were fighting and my friend was getting beat up. So I jumped in to help her get of my friend. Minutes later I found myself in the principal’s

Shame is not an effective tool because it harms people mentally. Things such as “Fat Shaming” are not effective, and tend to do the opposite of what the “shame-er” is trying to attempt. In most cases, it actually causes the individual to gain even more weight from insecurities. Also, an example in Scarlet Letter would be Dimmesdale. The more shame that was put Hester, the more he dug himself in to a hole.…

Seventh grade, my second year now at what I thought to be the worst school in the world. On back to school night I met a man who would change my perspective on life completely, that man being Brandon Lilly. Henry Adams once said “A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.” At a mere five-foot four he appeared to be a kid minus the burly lumberjack beard that he possessed. I remember being skeptical at first because I had never had a male teacher before.…

In the same dictionary, shame is defined as a painful feeling of humiliation or distress caused by the consciousness of wrong or foolish behavior. These two feelings go hand-in-hand. It is sometimes good to have guilt and a little shame, because not everyone is perfect. When Guilt and shame takes over, they can make us do things that we think are going to help us not feel guilt or shame anymore, which is not always good because guilt and shame are only felt when we do something bad.…

Everyone who had seen the argument wanted to know what was going to happen next, who was going to say something to her, and whether or not there was gong to be another fight. With just a few words, she had managed to offend 75% of our schools population, however, she seemed unfazed by the hurtful comments thrown her way. I was kind of envious of her ability to not care. All day, I had managed to not speak to her. We weren't good friends or anything, just two girls who shared some classes, so I didn't have to try hard to avoid her.…
