Each week, we spent hours together, as he kicked a soccer ball back and forth while spelling out the words on his spelling list, or jumped his way down a path of math flashcards spread out across the cafeteria floor while shouting out the answers. I had tutors with last minute scheduling conflicts, others who weren’t compatible, children who were uncooperative and a lice infestation that caused a total panic. Over time, my mantra became “there are no problems, just solutions” as I individually addressed each concern and managed it to its resolution. As the boss, I made decisions, remained flexible but firm, committed, efficient, budget conscious, open to suggestions for improvement, and remembered my team is everything. Staying organized and prioritized was
