Intro
School had started and I had a lot to tell my friends that I hadn’t seen all summer. This was the summer right before I went into highschool. So to some people this is a big summer. Although, to me it was just another summer. The summer of 2015 was a very wild summer. That summer more things happened than what was expected. There were many new friends that were made and there were many that were lost. There where many people who lost real things and many who lost things that they didn't care about. Many people that weren't allowed back in. Then there were some that moved away. There was the work that my brother had me doing to get better at basketball. Austin was my brother’s name. Austin was around 5’8 at the time. Even though he was only my half-brother it had felt like I’d known him for my entire life, he was the closest thing I ever had to a brother. This was crazy because I had only known him 5 years. He was kinda funny but was one of the those people who tried to make a joke out of everything. Austin were pale. Austin had brown eyes like mine. My mom just said we had to sleep in different rooms. We had all hanged out in the living room until like 4 am that night. We had played hide and sneak in the dark. I think that is one of the best games because when people move while you looking it could take forever . The girls also did mine and CJ’s hair. So that looked good. We had played a lot of different games. Some of them were of the game system and over wrent. When we all woke up my mom had cooked for all of us so we eat. We happen Pancakes, eggs, bacon. The hardest thing I’ve ever went through? Let me take you back to almost three years ago to a very cold Thursday morning in January. I was sitting in history class when suddenly something very strange happened; the announcement speakers came on. To most people it would seem like it was a very typical day to day event to listen to announcements; but at my school announcements were rarely ever said. My classroom got completely silent; to the point where you could have heard a pin drop.…

"Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty and persistence" I have had many ups and downs over the course of my life thus far. One specific example of this took place during my freshman year of high school. When I started high school it was very challenging for me, partially due to the fact that; during this time, I was lazy, unmotivated and did not really take school seriously. This by far is one of my biggest regrets to this day. Who would ever think that not trying during my freshman year would continue to follow me throughout the course of my academic career.…

About every 15 minutes someone would catch a fish. We stayed on the boat for 6 hours, I caught 2 fish that day, and on the way back I lay down and went to sleep. When I woke up we went to a restaurant and ate for about 30 minutes, then we went home and took showers and went to bed. The next day we got up and ate breakfast. When we left there we got in the car and went to the beach, and swam for mostly the entire day.…

Academics has always and will always be my number one focus, but it will not be my only focus. My only focus fas a freshman was my grades because I did not think I could handle extracurricular activities while maintaining excellent grades; however, I was wrong. As the end of freshman year approached, I decided to try out for volleyball and expand my knowledge and interests, which have sparked my involvement in other extracurricular activities my junior year, joining student council, National Honor Society, and DECA. Excitement built up inside of me. We were about an hour away from my aunt’s house; I loved the thought of being with my family, but I also loved the daring and silly activities that we did when we got there. That summer, we had gone to a strawberry farm. I thought that it was going to be incredibly monotonous and absurd; but I was wrong. It was torrid and unbearable in the summer heat, and when we arrived there, I sat back and dreaded the walk, but the summer brought great things to that…

High school changes people. They express themselves, become opinionated, and they start to look at the world differently as they experience things they have never encountered before. A wise Oliver Wendell Holmes said, “Man’s mind stretched to a new idea never goes back to its original dimensions.” This quote is an excellent way to describe my experience in high school.…

It was June 2, 2025, graduation day for South Miami Sr. High. Already my phone was buzzing from messages from all my closest friends except Chelsea, my best friend at the time. It was the last time I walked out of the old, nostalgic building that I had called my school for most of my life; each step took me farther from the familiar, constant life I once had. I clearly recall that emotional day that caused several of my classmates along with myself great trouble; it was likely one the most momentous moments of my life. The other students had lightheartedly poured out of the school building to jump start their summer, their unavoidable return in the following months seeming distant to them. Unlike them, I was never coming back. I clutched the photo album my friends had made for me as a going off gift, and took a few seconds to look back at the school and let myself take in the details of it one last time.…
