It took 17 years to create the person I am today. Lots of scary, good and bad things have happened to me over the past years. I have became a loving and caring person with passion and drive to conquer my goals. I am currently enrolled in a CNA class and am heading towards San Diego for college next summer to work as a radiology technician. I chose San Diego because I have heard lots of good things about the city and I would love to just explore what there is to offer in this world. There are lots of different things I love including my family, my boyfriend, and my dog. I love taking pictures of flowers and pretty landscapes also. My dog and I like exploring the outside and walking to the places he likes going. He loves the cow field in front of my house and going to the lake and going swimming. We always loved swimming together at the cottage that my grandparents own.Thats what I grew up doing, our family always had barbeques as well. Another thing I really enjoy doing is spending time with the people who mean most to me. My family has gone through an unexplainable amount of pain. I always wondered what people were thinking about my clothes, hair, basically anything about me. I fought with this for years and years until I met the important piece of my life. That’s my boyfriend, he has made me stronger and made me realize it doesn’t matter what people think. Ever since he’s showed me how life should be lived i’ve been much happier. I’m a very caring person in the way that it could hurt me. I used to let people walk all over me and use me but I have learned how not to care so much and how to stand up for myself. I couldn’t have became this strong of a person without the people that love

Children have come up to me, after seeing me with my cane or wheelchair, to simply ask, “What is wrong with you?” The first time I heard this it shocked me because I do not view myself as more different than anyone else, but then I realized it was a great opportunity to shine a positive light on disabilities. Everyone I meet, whether they are embarrassed parents in Wal-Mart or classmates at school, is hesitant to ask me about my story. However, I am more than willing to share about how cerebral palsy has affected my life in both positive and negative ways.…

When people ask me to describe myself, I always draw a blank, I never know what to say, I’m caught off guard because I don’t really love talking about myself too often because I am someone who likes to listen rather than to talk.
