Kids, let me tell you a story from when I was younger. I loved how my life was going. I had many friends, was at the top of h class, and was the star of the swim team at my school. I could swim faster than all of the other kids in The state of Hawaii. I was a mermaid; I swam so well (metaphor). I loved to swim, and did so every day, since my house was right next to the ocean. I had a few dolphin friends so I said hi to them, just like I did every other day. I began to swim, then everything changed.
I didn’t recognize the water I was in, and I was going slower than normal. I was confused, so I looked back to the land. It looked similar, so I continued swimming. I saw a dolphin that looked

Many things flew from my fingers, but I couldn’t control when it happened or what came out when I tried. They all confused me, because none of them were regular fish. They looked similar to fish that existed on earth, but they had a twist. Some looked like a mixture of a shrimp and a catfish. Once, when I was eating dinner, a creature came out that looked like a mixture of a whale and a walrus. Creak! (onomatopoeia) The table groaned(personification) under its weight. It landed on my food and I was very upset, because it was my favorite type of soup. I did discover that I could get the bigger ones to disappear after five minutes, so I didn’t have gross fish lying around my house. The tiny ones stayed, but I just ignored them. I kept trying, but I couldn’t get the hang of my powers.
I continued trying until I went to sleep. There was one tiny creature that kept trying to escape, but I just ignored it. When I woke up, I got some breakfast and watched the news. I was quite worried when the news anchor announced that there were rampant fish aliens in the city pool. I decided that I must try my best to save the world. When I got to the city pool, everyone was screaming. I focused as hard as I could to make the fish aliens disappear, but they were too tiny. They were multiplying very quickly, and there was nothing I could do to stop

I spawned so many, they could have covered the globe(hyperbole)! The nice fish aliens ate the evil fish aliens, and I saved the world. Immediately after I saved them, I was featured on international news. I was on cloud nine (idiom). I had always wanted to be famous, but I never expected it to happen in this way. I wanted to be famous for swimming, but being famous for saving the world was good enough. I managed to get control over my powers, and eventually figured out how to get rid of it. I continued to have a long, happy life. And that, kids, is the story of how I had the power to spawn fish

First of all, how did the snakehead fish get into the lake, well the government put them there and didn’t expect them the get out of control. I believe that snakehead fish are eating all of the fish out of lakes and people need to eat to survive. In addition, the other fish got into the snakehead jaws and the snakehead fish ate them up. So many argue them sprayed poisonous chemicals into the lake and it didn’t just kill the snakehead fish it killed all of of the fish in the lake, so the government had to put more fish back into lake the lake. For these reason i recommend not putting snakehead fish or any other harmful fish or any harmful animal that can cause damage to a person, place, or thing.…

This idea is supported by the frequented use of self-address implemented in the second half. The speaker becomes more involved. “I thought,” “I looked,” “I admired,” all produce a more active role on the part of the speaker. The turning point in the poem that triggers this alteration seems to be when the reader realizes that the fish is in fact still alive. “While his gills were breathing” (line 22) is the first action given to the fish and the first time he is addressed as a living thing.…

The creature’s actions are often misinterpreted, which causes him to resent humans and so accelerates his transformation into becoming a monster. During his travels, the creature comes across a river, just in time to see a girl running “along” its “precipitous sides”. The girl loses her footing and falls “into the rapid stream”. Immediately, the creature hurries out of his “hiding place, and, with extreme labour from the force of the current”, rescues her. When a man spots the creature with the girl, he tears “the girl from” the creature’s “arms”.…

This short story anthology is a collection of stories, which show step by step plot driven stories that follow traditional plot, but also being bad and dark, leaving the reader with a disturbing image, which does not replicate what many short stories are written about today. The stories I choose to include in my anthology are: “Where are you going Where have you been” by Joyce Carol Oates, “A Good Man Is Hard to Find” by Flannery O’Connor, “The Other Place” by Mary Gaitskill, “The Things They Carried” by Tim O’brien, “Jumper Down” by Don Shea, “Jens” by Ross Nervig and Encounters with the Unexpected Animals” by Anthony Johnson. All these stories share a dark element within them making them all connect, leaving a perfect fit for this anthology.…
