Jonathan Kane: A Short Story

It was a foggy Sunday morning, here in this beautiful state of West Virginia. The grass was still wet from the dew and the neighborhood was still quiet. I got up early and went outside to get the paper. Then I went back inside, and read the paper for about an hour. After I read the paper, I turned on the news to see the current events. It blew my mind when I saw a guy, Jonathan Kane, escaped the United States Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. From the way his face looks, he looked huge. Apparently, he was a Navy Seal like me, but he had committed treason for 10 million dollars. “How could someone do that,” I thought to myself?
All I know is that I could never do that to my country. About ten minutes later, the news had gone

Jonathan Kane quickly jumped behind a bright yellow and black taxi and yelled, "You 'll have to kill me first!"

He pulled out the gun that was tucked in his boot, fired randomly, and he killed three SWAT team members. He was only able to do it because they were in a mob. There were bullets flying everywhere, as the Swat Team fired back. Jonathan Kane quickly picked the lock of the taxi, slid in, and got the keys out of the glove box. Then he started the car, sped away, and hid in an ally way back behind a grocery store.

The bed was so comfortable, that I must have overslept. When I take naps, I usually sleep on the hard and lumpy couch with rough texture. I got out of bed, feeling refreshed and nurtured. I went into the den to watch television. When I turned on the news I saw that the grocery store was robbed. I also noticed that it was the same one that I went to earlier today. When they showed the picture of the person who robbed it, I was amazed when I saw Jonathan Kane’s face. Apparently he took 1,000 dollars out of each cash register. “What did he need it for,” I thought to

I was so confused and nervous, that I didn’t know what to do. So I just went along with it. After driving there for about an hour, we finally got there. I was so nervous, because I didn’t know what was going to happen. When we went inside, they told me that someone was hunting me. Someone was hunting me to kill me. When I asked who and why, the director of the FBI said,” His name is Jonathan Kane. He thinks that he is still in a war and that you are the scout that shot and killed his brother. Do you remember the huge assignment back in 2007, in the country of Iraq?”
“Yeah”
“We are going to set a trap and capture this dangerous man, no matter how long it takes us,” said the director of the FBI
“What do you mean, we,” I asked? ***
Jonathan Kane ran into a convenience store to change out of the dirty, smelly, raggedy, prison clothes. When he came back out, a cop spotted him out of the corner of his eye. The cop didn’t move at first. This is because there was no need to. Then all of a sudden Jonathan Kane spotted a twenty-dollar bill on the ground. When he bent down to pick it up, he looked up, and looked the cop right in the eyes. Out of the blue he started to run as. He ran as fast as a panther chasing after pray in Africa. The cop ran towards his car got in and started to chase Jonathan Kane down the

Diary Entry 4: The night had just started to darken; the stars that were coming up as though they were individual beacons of hope that kept people going to see another day. Everyone was scattered around in their makeshift houses; we had been living in a cardboard box for a while now just like everyone around us. As I looked down I could see my ribs sticking out, the piece of an apple I ate to today did not satisfy my hunger; albeit it was the first food I had in three days. The lack of food was because of where I lived, Hooverville, it was where the cardboard houses were abundant, yet the food was scarce, and there was a copious amount of unemployment.…

It was definitely the most beautiful country that I had seen and, in my opinion it still is. The tarmac was busy with all kinds of activity going on.…

I then ate a bowl of cocoa puffs and went back upstairs to prepare myself for the day.…

Today is going to be just like any other day, I sketched in my morning journal. The morning Baltimore sun shone past the skyscrapers of downtown, and light protruded through the silk blinds that covered half of the picture window in my room. I rose up from my queen bed.
