What is identity? A identity is something people must create for themselves, and let no one pick your choices, by Roberto Santiago. Now the real question comes, who am I and what decisions did I pick to end up me and what decisions did my family pick that influence me today? Having been born in the San Fernando Valley, California around May 1997, my parents were born in Zacatecas, Mexico around the early 1950s. Both of my parents grew up being farmers, working long days growing their corps to consume, and rising animals to deal or as well consume them. A couple of years later my parents had their only girl named Ilcia who was born in the late 1980s, same as my brother; she was born in a time were racism against Mexicans was not a big problem in the San Fernando Valley. At this point when my siblings were going to school the vast majorly of their classmates were Hispanic, white, Asian, and Black, yet for the most part were Hispanics. They both never experiences any racism like being called “wetback” or “beaner” in their entire school lives because many of their friends, teachers and their community were Hispanics or grow up in San Fernando Valley and were used to seeing Hispanics. Many of their classmates from their generation were into the Hispanic culture like the music, movies, and the food; even the non-Hispanics kids enjoy the culture. A lot of people thought he was joking or it was just a publicly stunts for a new television show. About couple of months after his announcement, he said he was going to build a wall that will spread Mexico and the United States so illegal immigrant will not be able to cross over and that got a lot of people’s attention. He started saying more racist rants like Mexicans are the problem that the United Sates has rapist, they cause violence and they are the cause for the United States has a drug problem. I remember thinking that after Trump has said those racist rants that he was done for it; no one’s reputation survives after saying that on national television. So, I thought his bid for presidency was done and everyone will forget and move on, but that never happen. Trump got a lot more followers that agree with point of views that Mexicans are the problem and they are talking all the jobs from Americans and that there should be wall that stops them from crossing over. I was disgust how people were agreeing with him and could not believe it. For once in my life I and my family felt the effect of racism and I was scare that if trump does become president he will take away our right away. I knew we had to do something, we had to speak our minds out, so we decided to join the protests in down town Los Angeles every other week until the election date, to show that we
