Everyone would go through the lines on the floor and do cartwheels. Then we would all go through handstands, back walkovers, and Jumps. I had always loved doing these things because when I got a lot of power I would rebound and I felt like I could touch the sky.

Usually I go right to doing a roundoff backhandspring back tuck. I asked coach today, but he said I couldn’t. I went along with it and just did the roundoff back handspring. I started the trick. First up the roundoff, I got through it perfectly. My eyes were focused on the floor. It was navy blue with white tape lining the edges. The springs squeaking every time I land. I jump up and flip into my backhandspring, and with all the power in the world I land. The rebound made me feel like I was a bird. Able to stay in the air for a few seconds before I came back down. I started to come down all out of control. I couldn’t control my body, and all of a sudden I was on the ground. I fall all the time like this, so to everyone else it was no big deal. I noticed that I couldn’t feel my wrist. When I looked down it was misshapen. My arm and hand were in the correct places but in between there was a gap.
