Narrative Essay About Going To Mexico

Decent Essays
Oh that sounds great about going to Mexico!!! I hope you have a blast! I've heard so many great things and bad things so PLEASE be careful. I'm happy to hear you had a nice birthday that sounds like fun :). I am still employed but holding on by a thread. The client that I work onsite for decided to pay half my salary in order to keep me here. I gotta tell you that made me feel so good when I found that out. That's really rare. I have been interviewing and have a 2 hr interview tomorrow. It's not something I want but it would be working with Avnet which is the client I work for and would be much better pay and a direct hire, so I'll take it in order to get the heck out of my mom' house. I HATE living there with Dan! I think he's awful on purpose. My mom told me when he was trying to get his wife to take the lead in getting a divorce he would be really mean to her. I think that's what he's doing the only thing is I'm a lot more meaner and not afraid to tell him off. He's always trying to bring me down and tells me all the time this is why your life is like this. What an asshole. …show more content…
I just haven't had as much to motivate me and have been battling depression but I don't want to tell my Dr cause she'll want to put me on meds. She's always trying to get me on weight loss drugs too. I just rather not be on prescriptions. I thought about talking with someone, so that maybe something I look into once I figure out my insurance now that it's changed this year. I bet you still look great. You're so tall with long legs I can't imagine you having a lot of extra lbs. You are right tho it does get harder with age. Samantha asked me if she would ever get a sibling I looked at her and said yeah if your father gives you one. I don't want to have any more kids. That could change but for now I'm pretty firm on

I have a story to tell about my journey coming to the United States of America. It was not easy and fun, but it’s all wort it. My husband and I have been dating for about five years before getting hitched. Since Philippines and America are eight thousand two hundred twenty two miles from each other we always rely on the internet just to feel we are together. For five years of longing for each other is the hardest thing we ever did, there are moments that we need to adjust the time because during day in America, its night in the Philippines, when the internet/ data is down, we cannot communicate well, pretty much we are stocked in a long distance relationship because I'm on the other side of the world and the struggle is real as we have to do more extra effort to reach each other as like having a normal relationship.…

History is known to be created only by the victorious, thus what many thought once was the fabric of history is now the remaining threads placed by the needles of conquerors. History can easily be manipulated by people in power, and silence those who were not successful in standing up for themselves. Individuals need to know how history works before analyzing the results; one needs to revise all the sides of history, from the conquerors to those who were the conquered. In this case, the United Statesians (the victorious), Mexicans (the conquered), and the Texans, were the ones who underwrote most in the, western frontiers, manifest destiny, to the Mexican-American war. Their history, though similar, provides different aspects of how present…

Being American and Mexican, simultaneously, is harder than it seems. I had been living in the U.S,for ten years and for the first time, I was going to visit San Luis Potosi, Mexico, which is where my family lives. My mother always said that Mexico is known for being a poor country, even so I still didn’t imagine it would be any different from the U.S. At this point, I was arriving, taxis everywhere, people shouting to find their arriving families, it smelled like Mexican food, it was a familiar smell, like if it was something I was waiting to feel. Everyone looked like they just got a tan.…

Growing up, I have met a lot of people, had a lot of experiences and memories. Some were enjoyable, fun, and some were stressful, but my favorite memory was coming to America. Moving from Africa to America made me a better person and taught me to understand people better. It gave me opportunities to change my lifestyle, be around others that are different from me, and expand my education. One memory that tops all memories was coming to the United States.…

Being Mexican American I believed I had a bit of an unfair advantage taking this course. I was looking forward to learning more about my culture and myself but at the back of my mind I believed I would already know some of the material. I am very happy to say that I have learned a lot more than I expected. I have learned a lot about Hispanic cultures other than mine, politics, and economics, and many other topics but off all the things we covered in class the three that most stuck out to me were the early history of Latinos in the US, learning about privilege, and educational achievement of Latinos.…

At the time, I did not know which universities I wanted to apply to or what were the differences between a Cal State, a UC, and a Private University. I did not even know about financial aid. I just knew that I wanted to be the first in my family to attend a University and get a degree.…
