Many weeks before the trips time to approach I would complain to my friends about how the trip wouldn’t be exciting and how it would be another trip my mother was dragging me along to. My mother is a high school science teacher, she likes to host trips around the world for her students to sign up for and gain a brand new learning experience. At the time I did not find leaving the country just to learn that exciting and would have much rather stayed home. Although later on my feelings for the trip will have changed completely and I learned a brand new way …show more content…

When I was younger each year I would fly with a private pilot at an airshow but the size of those small planes do not amount to the ones coming in and out of airports each day. I traded seats with another passenger to be able to sit beside my friend Shyanne, beside her was an older man who watched videos the whole flight. He was so invested in his iPad that whenever we were checked on by an attendant he would let out an uninterested grunt. The flight wasn’t too long we were served breakfast and given enough time to go back to sleep. Before long the plane began to lower and we prepared to land. Through our windows we could see a beautiful view of Costa Rica. Eye filling sights of vibrant colors, beaches, and wildlife filled our …show more content…
Throughout the trip our tour guide Victor taught us about Costa Rica on the long drives we had going place to place. On the thrill seeking like white water rafting and ziplining for example he told us a motto to use while on the trip. Victor told us to say “pura vida” whenever we about to do anything exciting. As an example he related “pura vida” too the american slang “yolo”. We all considered it and thought why not we're only here for ten days right? From then on we never said no we tried every food, activity, and even crazy dares because of Victor’s

She thought she would be unhappy with the switch at first, in fact, she was worried about her friends and whether west would actually be better. Megan was very nervous but ultimately decided that switching would be better than her previous situation. Like Megan, I felt worried about my first day at middle school. I put off returning to school because of this very topic - time management. Bethel offers several ways to help with this issue, I particularly like the online calendar as a way to keep assignments and discussion deadlines front and center. I was traveling out of state for the entire Unit 1 cycle; it was a daunting task making sure I was back at the hotel in time to devote time to my studies as well as my work obligations. So, remaining focused on keeping professional and personal worlds separate and manageable is the bane I (like my other classmates) share and must remain cognizant of.…

When I first set my to go back to school, I told myself, it makes no sense going back to school if you’re not going to give 100% into everything that you do once you step foot on the campus that you choose to involve yourself with. To me it makes no sense accepting a position or a role that people depend greatly on your ability if you yourself don’t plan to 1) give them your all 2) enter that position with a pure heart and mind, with no ulterior motive, and 3) being able to take that position and grow from it. Every job I have accepted or every role I have committed myself to on this campus I always strive to complete these three goals. When you come from a country where no one expects much from you, it’s bound to produce a few citizens who…

My decision to return to college was purely random. There was no pondering over the decision; no weighing in the pros and cons, no thinking it through or any real thought behind it. I literally woke up one morning and said to myself “I think I’ll go back to college” and I made the call. I called the College of New Rochelle and made the appointment for the admissions test. And before I knew what was actually happening, I was a matriculated college student.…
