Personal Narrative: The Bus Ride

October 14, 2014--the days are counting down and not a day spent at practice that we are not preparing for this game. The feelings can never replace a time, a place, and a team. As the days went fast, and what seemed to be the night that almost felt like it wasn’t real. The bus ride seemed to determine where we would go from here. We all knew where the bus was taking us, Spring Grove placed 6th whereas Kingsland placed 11th. The game everyone wouldn’t miss, yes due to the loss of every game we seem to always tell ourselves that we were just waiting for playoffs to begin. We did as we all told ourselves. After playing 5 stressful yet fun filled games we all wanted nothing more than our season not to end not at this time and point. We played …show more content…

Judging as we walk into the school it was filled with younger kids running around chasing each other with their faces red and sweat starting to form on their foreheads. After taking the first couple step into the unfamiliar setting the butterflies started to …show more content…
The heat feels like it’s getting worse and we are all dead tired. The third game we still are sweating like crazy and exhausted, with bright red faces and empty water bottles we fall into a lost again. Knowing we have another game common up we have to push harder than we did in the first. The seniors know this could be their last game but I know if I was a senior I wouldn’t want this to be my last game. Coach Frank wouldn’t let us give up, saying things to lift up our spirts. “Push harder than you ever had. Yes I understand it’s hot in here but we still have this game and another so let’s go out there and show them that we didn’t drive down here for them to win”. “We know we can do this, just stop thinking about it and go out and play the game we all love. Play as a team, lose as a team in the end of the day we are still a

Coach Dale, head coach of the Indian Huskies, on the movie Hoosiers is a strong asset to the team’s success. He is a coach who boost self esteem instead of lowering it. Therefore, this was a team of small freshmen and sophomores playing against mostly juniors and seniors at the varsity level in one of the most talented high school conferences in the state. We finished the season 1-15, most of which were pretty tough losses but we worked hard and left it all on the field every game and that in the end is all that matters.
