Their words were lies. It may have been fun at the time, but now I have nothing to show for it. I never thought about the future when I was younger; I only thought about the present. I had the mindset of most teenagers, “It won’t happen to me,” were my most famous words. My story is a lesson to be learned. It can and it will happen to you. It all started when I was sixteen years old, and I met a boy who would actually look at me for a change. Most of the guys I would meet would be complete trash and would not respect me for who I was, but this one guy that I met was actually different and cared about me. Let me be the first to tell you that nothing is ever as good as it seems. This boy’s name was Kevin. Kevin and I started hanging out a lot at school; and even after school sometimes. He started with pounding his fists against the wall. Once he finally broke through the wall he started charging at me with his hand raised. He brought it down full-force and slapped me across my cheek. My mother raised me to never let a man put his hands on me, so I left and never went back. Three days after I left Kevin and his friends, I started having a sick-feeling but I could not describe what was wrong. I did not want to feel this way, it was a terrible feeling.
