Defining Personality Trait

When I was no more than six years old I got into a terrible accident; I ran straight into a metal tray leaving a nasty scar on my face, a nasty, permanent, scar. What did I do after receiving this bleeding gash on my face? I kept on running. I guess one would say that determination has always been my more defining personality trait. From as far back as I can remember I have always been the kind of person to stop at nothing in regards to proving people wrong. From the time my aunt told me I would “never add up to anything,” to the time my boyfriend told me I was a terrible liar, I never stopped until I proved them wrong. If you were to ever ask someone to “describe Amara in one word” they would either say extremely stuck in her ways or impulsive. …show more content…
I have a compulsive need to always be right, a trait that has definitely caused me problems and still causes me problems. You truly need to get used to my personality in order to befriend me because if you do not understand me you will be offended. I have an odd way of showing my affection for people, unlike most people who tell their loved ones that they love them on a daily basis I resort to giving witty, sarcastic remarks, it is my way of saying I love them. Personally, I love all of my personality traits. They make me unique in a sense that most of the people who surround me have two or three of the same traits, never all seven. At the age of twelve I started boxing. Boxing is a very exhilarating sport; if you do not apply yourself properly you end up with a nasty bruise on your body. I learned throughout the years that boxing is what keeps me calm and centered, sparring and punching bags gives me an outlet for all my pent up anger. When I was eleven my parents separated, due to this life event I became a very angry child thus my impending involvement in boxing. I never knew how to control my anger issues until I started boxing, it truly did change my life in more ways than one. All of my personality traits coincide with what boxing stands for and I am beyond proud to possessive each of the traits that I do because without …show more content…
Some are outrageous and some are mellower. Ambitions are what makes a person want to get up and start their day because without something to work towards, working has no meaning. Take having a job for example, you go to your job with the motivation that you are getting paid at the end of your shift. You are motivated by your ambition to make money. My ambitions in like are far-fetched and outrageous, which is exactly why I have to work twice as hard to meet my goals. I want to become and international criminal lawyer with background knowledge in forensic science. I want to own several penthouse suites in Toronto, Manhattan, Rio de Janeiro and Barcelona. I want to be established in a successful law firm by the age of 29 and travel the world with the intent to discover all the different cultures the world has to offer. My ambitions are big and I fully intend to fulfill each of my specific goals. I have never been a girl to want a domestic life, it never coincided with my diverse personality therefore having children and getting married is out of the question. Everything I do in life is related to my goals, whether that be educational wise, social wise, or recreational wise. I love the aspect of my impending future and it brings me so much joy that every task I complete brings me closer to everything I dreamt about as a little

As I approached my high school years, I changed mentally by creating a positive mindset after my freshman year. As to this day, getting a 3.11-grade point average has affected me in both positive and negative ways. One characteristic that I figured out about myself is that I am a person who learns from mistakes due to the fact that I am a tactile learner.…

Devyn Vermette PSYC 220 05 Journal Entry 1 The main point of this week’s textbook reading was to look at development through the different lenses of psychology( i.e the different theories). Taking the collective information from each of these theories, the key question is whether or not development is continuous or discontinuous? The most important information the author uses to answer this question is the fact that when you look at a lifespan, development is lifelong. Essentially this means that events occurring during each major period, or stage, of the lifespan have equal effect on the future.…
