I remember seeing craters the size of a house. These humungous and steep holes in the ground showed the damage that was caused during the war. After visiting Pointe Du Hoc, we went back to Mercure Hotel. We had baked chicken, fresh tilapia, and steamed rice once we got to the hotel. Altogether I enjoyed the food. I sat with my friends, joking and talking like we always do. I remember that night well, being that it was our last night in France. I was wearing an outfit consisting of white Vans, tan shorts, t-shirt and a pair of sunglasses. We ate our food and talked for about an hour or so. Jay Strack. Not only is he the President of SLU, he is on the Evangelical Executive Advisory Board of Donald Trump. He greeted us and casually talked with us. His laid back, calm and personal approach to talking with us made this experience a really fun and enjoyable one to have. As we ended up the talk, we talked about some of the issues that were so prevalent to the future of our nation, such as terrorism, race relations, violence, equality, and the presidential election. After talking for about an hour, we went back into our hotel rooms. We joked around, told stories, and enjoyed our last night in France. By 11:00 PM, we all went to our separate rooms and we prepared to go to bed. As I got ready, I reflected on what these few days meant to me. I prayed, thanked God for allowing be to be on this trip, and I went to bed.
