Another humid and damp day in the Port McQuire or in other words “The City of Sadness” where smiles are rare and tears are near. Mean while as I twiddle my fingers counting down the final five minutes of school before my weekend can begin. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1…

“DING DONG DING DONG!” Boy how that brings music to my ears, rushing out of school thinking about nothing except the weekend. First up, asking Denice out; Denice is this very beautiful girl that I really like. So before I leave school I head over to Denice’s locker; “Hey Denice” as I stutter over the hallway. “I was wondering about if um you would want to um do something, with me this arvo?” I ask trying to hold back my nerves “yeh sure, where do you want to go?” She replies, “how about the bridge near Addison Park?” I say filled with excited “you mean, the abandoned one? I look down my watch to see what the time was, almost getting knocked of my feet seeing that the time was 6.45 meaning I only had 15 minutes to get home so I sprinted to my bike got on and peddled fast a I possibly could home. Just I was getting out of the park and on the road I realise that I didn’t say goodbye to Denice and if ever wanted as cute with her I would have to. Even though I was already about to have an asthma attack I turned around a start biking back. As I was approaching the bridge of where I last so Denice I was engulfed in mist almost not even been able to see my hand in front my face. I pedal on having a brief idea where I’m going and as I think I’m getting to the bridge a hear a huge scream in the distance. It was Denice, she was in trouble. So once again a moved my feet and legs a fast a they could g, pushing myself to the very limits. Finally I get to the bridge, out of breath, frantic, searching for Denice but finding nothing.
