We tried to carry all of our bags by ourselves, but it was not working out. We did not have enough hands or strength to carry all of the groceries back to the condo. Mandy said, “Nolan left us to carry all this stuff back to the condo. He ain’t getting any of it!” Still struggling to find a way out of Wal-Mart with our bags, we decided we were going to “borrow” one of Walmart’s buggies. At the time we didn’t know that taking a buggy was illegal and at that time we would not have cared either. The plan was to carry all of the stuff out and get a buggy from the parking lot so nobody would see us. Typical for that night, the only one in the parking lot was all messed up. The buggy was leaning to the left and the wheel was making an annoying squeaky sound. At that moment, we could care less. We just wanted to get back to the condo. Mandy was pushing the buggy, Savannah was in the buggy, - I have no idea why- and I was on the phone with my friend Reese so someone would know if anything happened to us. We decided to take a shorter route back than the one we took to get there. So instead of walking 4 miles, it would only take us two. We turned down a road with no street lights and was surrounded by woods. I swear I could hear the scary music from one of those movies where stupid people …show more content…

Mandy said, “How are we supposed to know? I just hope it’s not a bad person. What if he stops? What do we do?”
Savannah said, “Push the buggy off the road so they can pass by without hitting us.” We pushed the wobbly buggy farther down the road. I swear we looked like a homeless people. It felt like a long time before the car came close enough. As the vehicle got closer we realized it was a cop. Our whole attitude changed from being terrified someone might kill us to terrified we would get arrested. It was now around 1 or 2 o’clock in the morning. We were out past curfew. We had stolen a buggy from Walmart.
I said, “Let’s ditch the buggy and lay it on the side like someone just left it there and run and hide in the ditch were the police officer can’t see us.”
By the time the cop got to us, it felt like forever. We realized that he had slowed down, which made our minds race. We had no clue what to think. As soon as he was beside us, he turned his lights on. We thought we were caught, and I would be killed by my parents when they found out. We froze. He did the opposite of what we were thinking. He sped off. We didn’t care why he sped off. We were just glad we didn’t get
