How To Write A Story Telling Me Wrong

One day during the summer of 2008 when I was around the age of eight I started to lie more than usual. It was probably because of the fact that during the time that I noticed that when I would tell the truth about an accident that I would be punished, so I learned that instead of telling the truth and being punished for something that I did, I would just tell the opposite of the truth.
But that day I was with my mom at the grocery store, and when we were in there getting food for the house I saw my favorite candy. I asked my mom for the candy but she told me no because I had already had candy before we had gotten to the store. At that moment when my mom wasn’t paying attention, I looked over at the bright green sour apple candy, then back at my mom for affirmation that she wasn’t paying attention to me. Then as we started to walk away to go to another aisle I grabbed the candy and put it into my pair blue jean overalls pocket and began to walk away like nothing happened because I didn’t want to look suspicious.

When my mom and I made the walk to our car I helped her put the bags into the trunk of the car, and then got in the back seat and put my seatbelt on. I didn’t eat my new treasure yet because I wanted to wait until I got to my house to eat the sweet candy. It was about a ten-minute drive back home and I couldn’t wait for the ride to be over. When we finally reached our house I got out and helped my mom unload the bags into the house and put the food in their place, but when I finished I ran upstairs into my room and quickly shut the door behind. I then pulled out my treasure from my front overalls pocket and quickly unwrapped the treat. As soon as the candy hit my taste buds I was happy and full of joy.
