As we loaded up the vans to go, I thought, finally, a whole week by myself away from my family! Well, I was not really by myself, because I was going with a large group of sponsors and teens, from my 212° teen church, to Falls Creek, OK, for church camp. Nevertheless, it felt good to be traveling somewhere on my own. Even though I knew it would be a long trip, I planned to have a lot of fun. Thus, when our ensemble of five vans headed out, needless to say, I was excited.
Then, after being on the road for quite a while, we stopped at a McDonalds in Oklahoma, to get a quick bite to eat. When we got back on the road, it took three and one-half hours to get there, but we finally arrived at Falls Creek. It was a huge …show more content…
Following that, we went to morning worship, and once that was over, we had free time. First, I went rock climbing with two other sponsors, whose names were David and Steven. Although it was very fun, it was also somewhat scary. We were climbing high up on the rocks, and my harness which was attached to a harness on each of the sponsors, was the only thing keeping me from falling to my death, or at the very least, breaking a few bones, if I fell. Afterwards, I watched Steven and David play in the upcoming volleyball match but I found it somewhat boring. Similarly, every morning we played some type of game in our cabin, went to morning worship, and then the rest of the day was our free time. We could engage in various different activities that were scheduled, or spend time with friends. Some of the events I chose to do were, walking by myself and with friends, playing card and board games with my friends, and zip lining, which was extremely fun. Finally, the night before the last day, and while we were having evening worship, I was saved. I walked to the front of the church with a bunch of other teens who also wanted salvation. As I prayed, God accepted me into His holy kingdom forever. It was so awesome. Later on, we went back to the cabin where we had some desert and went to
