this is not related to my feelings at all. well, maybe a little. the broken inside does not referring to someone or something else. it's just me. whose muscles are aching and in pain, the after result from the camp. the first day of camping, there was nothing happened, except for we come to the campsite really late because of the bus having technical problem. the night, the heavy rain is all but causing the inside of the tent damp and some of the tents, was flooded with water. Ours was perfectly fine except for the three corners of the tent, we had to sleep straight and not moving at all, some are sleeping in sitting form. All four of us, the tent mates/housemates/friends had to fit ourselves in the medium-sized tent. the morning, we had to …show more content…
but ugh. it was all but tiring and well, boring. i mean, yeah... the story was like, me and my friend concluded that i'll be the one in the front and she's at the back for both of us had almost same weight. but neither of us ever do kayak. we ended up bickering in the middle of the lake. because, she's left-handed, and i am right-handed. and we ourselves confused with how to navigate... like to turn to left, we must pedal at the right side and vice versa. so when we wanted to turn left, she said, "A! pedal at the right." and i move the ____ to the right and look at her, "H! Pedal at the right side." and then then i yelled, "to the right.. right." and i was pedalling at the right side.. like ugh.. and it's so tiring we ended up holding our pedal and not moving at all in the middle of the lake just to take a breathe. by the end of the session, we started to mastering on how to handle. i was thinking that kayak is boring for me but for her, its so fun. i couldn't help but roll my eyes like... fun? ugh.. all my body aches with pain. thats no fun at …show more content…
we all hate to do the nightwalk but no chance, but to do it anyways. so we did it like 12.30 in the midnight.. each one of us will be released and walked alone in the trail while the helpers of the activitiy will scare the shit out of us, the nightwalkers. the nightwalk was held in the middle of the forest. we'll be relased one by one.. no moon that night, no street light, no torchlight, no nothing but your eyes to guide you to walk in the darkness of the forest. but before that, theres six of us, plotted a plan. one of us who gone first have to wait for the other like ten metres away.. then next will come (it was I and H first) and we walked like another three metres and hide at the side of the trail, waiting for the other four girls. then the six of us together walk to the darkness. good thing, theres a male with us (i think he run before finding us).. and we walked together holding hands. (more like gripping ones' hands tightly). the helpers tried to scared us along the way but it bit fun and less scary as compared to the last semester's

Bracing strokes are similar to rolls in their execution, but they are used to keep you from tipping over in the first place. Even in the largest of waves and holes a strong brace is enough to keep you upright. River reading is a term that refers to your ability to anticipate obstacles, hazards, eddies, currents, and the force and shape of rapids that you are paddling. Skill at river reading comes only from experience. As one wise old kayaker was known to say "Good judgement comes from experience, experience comes from bad…

I consider Camp Kanata a second home, I worked my first full summer as a camp counselor after junior year. That summer was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life; I learned, laughed, and cried everyday, I also created amazing friendships. Yet when asked about what made my summer so spectacular a few months later, I had little to say, my mind was blank. I cannot remember what happened a week ago, let alone what happened months and years ago. The number of special memories and moments I have forgotten about is unquantifiable.…

Hey everyone. It's Badger. Rafter is out for a bit thanks to a project for a public speaking class, so I'm kind of the only one who's free to post for the moment. So here's my post: Once again, I've noticed my random paddling crews giving me odd looks for asking to sit in an strangely specific section of the raft: left-hand tube near the stern of the raft, usually at the last thwart in the back. People who don't know me seem to assume that I'm sitting there because it's the safest.…

I arrive at camp, Camp Long Lake, some people call it a great merry place, others, they would prefer to watch paint dry. At least so I’ve heard. Now I’ve been forced to come to this place due to my inadequate decisions and treating people poorly. So I can only speculate that this week will be an atrocious one.…

The trip to a camping site in the middle of a Pennsylvania forest- a trip I would never forget- lead me to the discovery of myself and my transition into adulthood. This trip was through the summer camp I have attended for now eleven years; Liberty Lake Day Camp located in Columbus, New Jersey, is my second home. I grew up in this camp, and when I finally reached the age to become a L.I.T, a leader in training, I was eager to undergo the program with my friends I always attended camp with. This trip was a reward to all the hard work we do as L.I.Ts. Little did I know the annual L.I.T trip to the camping site would be life changing.…

I just got done with my shift to protect Camp Half-Blood feeling very tired and stressed. With the camp’s protection being down and most of the campers going back to their families for the summer, this meant that there were very few of us to guard our safe haven. Not to mention I was still recovering from my broken ankle. I decided to take a walk down to the beach near the camp. Lately, I’ve found the sound of crashing waves, wind brushing through my hair, and the slight smell of salt hitting my face very soothing ever since I had met my best friend, Percy Jackson.…

Day one of my captivity I have been captured by the enemy. They came in the evening with their large trucks and their strange, thin radios, which they kept tapping with their fingertips. I wondered at first if they were typing in Morse Code, but it wasn’t. It wasn’t any code I recognized. They asked me if I knew what was going on.…

My hands, shaking and sweaty, fumbled with the little flashlight as I tried in vain to turn it on. After fifteen long seconds, the thin stream of light pierced the darkness illuminating my script. All humans, with a few exceptions, harbor a deep resentment against public speaking. We fear being ridiculed by our peers and even our teachers. We will go out of our way to avoid it but in the end, instead of protecting ourselves we just hold ourselves back.…

For the past 6 years of my life, I have gone to a sleepaway camp in Burnet, TX called Camp Longhorn Inks Lake. There are many enjoyable traditions at Camp Longhorn. Some of the\ traditions are the mile swim, campfire lighter, early bird, fun day, frog girl day, and marine/marina mud. Although these traditions are great fun, but none of them can compare to the most memorable tradition at Camp Longhorn, Church Mountain. Church Mountain is my favorite tradition at Camp Longhorn and my life has been infinitely changed by the experiences I have had up there.…

Nicole Gao Mr.Isley Honors English II - Period 4 October 21, 2015 Narrative Essay On February 19, 1942, just two months after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, President Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066. Its tone was carefully neutral: it authorized the War Department to designate “military areas” that excluded people considered to be a danger to the United States. But, the order actually had a specific target: 110,000 Japanese Americans living along the West Coast of the United States.…

The Hunting Camp From 2006 until 2010 my father, uncle, and I were all members of a hunting club. Although we were there to hunt, it was likely the smallest aspect of the trip. We spent more time around a campfire than we did in any tree stand. The camp, for me anyways, was broken into three major areas: the hunting grounds, the campgrounds, and the camper itself.…

Thanks the Texas Exes alumni, I was able to go to Camp Texas for free this year. At first I thought that it was like any normal 3- day camping trip, which made me extremely excited since I enjoy camping very much. Once I got there, I realized that it was a different type of camp. I was nervous and scared because I’m not very good at socializing. The reason I’m writing this is because I learned so much about being open minded, accepting, and kind to other people and new experiences.…
