but then slowly, the whole class began to join. Kids would make dirty faces when I would pass by. They’d pull my chair so I would fall backwards, they’d throw balls at me, slam my head against the water fountain, lock me in bathrooms, and push me around. I finally had enough and I decided to tell my parents. I told them that I was getting bothered by kids at school so they did what any parent would do and took me to the principal’s office.…

Within a day, I began to hear stories about how she flipped out and it began to grow into this huge outlandish story. I was constantly bullied for that and I lost a lot of “friends” because of it.…

Journal #3(Elementary School) From the first punch to the final insult, elementary school was by far the worst experience of my life. I remember being physically assaulted all the way back in kindergarten, taking punches from two imbeciles named Anthony and Carmelo. The teacher never did anything to stop the bullying, all she would ever do is tell them they weren't being nice. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that no one would help me; after all, it's human nature to turn the other way when confronted with a conflict.…

Although I practiced for weeks and sang for my chorus teacher countless times, I never knew of what could have happened in my five minute audition. I would have to warm up and sing an excerpt of the audition piece “Sing Ye to the Lord.” Then I would have 60 seconds to study an 8-measure line of sight singing.…

Once upon a time I was in an enclosed elevator in Hecht Residential College at the University of Miami. As I stood there, I noticed several interesting things, such as everyone who entered were either already on their phones or immediately took them out, all not brave enough to interrupt the awkward silence. I was particularly intrigued by the resident assistants, dressed in fishnet stockings and morph suits, handing out candy to each student who entered the elevator. They were the only ones unafraid to disrupt that awkward silence. Suddenly, I had a revelation.…

I was afraid to sharpen a pencil in second grade. My most vivid elementary school memories spring from instances when I was being reprimanded by an adult for doing something wrong. I did everything in my power to avoid those dreadful moments, but they still presented themselves on occasion. Even now I feel a pit in my stomach when I recall the way I felt during those times, regardless of the fact that almost all of them would easily roll off my back if they occurred today.…
