Being a mother is the greatest job in the world. It is also one of the hardest. Especially when having 3 girls. We lived in a small city called Hammond. April 22, 2013 was the date I have been waiting for 40 agonizing weeks. I was preparing myself to go to the hospital to give birth to my third daughter. My final birth really enlightened me on the strength I have as being a mother. I was styling my 2-year-old Jamyah’s hair in braids before making my way out. Jamyah was not your typical 2-year-old. It felt like the longest 2 hours of my life as I was anticipating his arrival. He finally came at 4 am. He looked super drowsy and disoriented. That wasn 't a great look for him due to the fact that he was about to a needle in my spine. Sitting there faint hearted, the anesthesiologist start going over all the risk factors of getting the epidural. My mind was bobbled and still in pain I try to pay attention, but the only risk factor I heard was death. Even though this was my third time riding this roller coaster, I was fearing for my life. But the thought of this tormenting pain going away with this, my fear dwindle. He proceed with the procedure and it was a success. (I did not die). As time went on, my nightmare of pain was ending and I went back to sleep …show more content…
Her head was near my heart. In tears of joy, I looked in her almond shaped eyes and fell in love instantly. She had a hair full of hair that was soft as silk. We bond for 20 mins before they cut the core and took her for tests. It was the most amazing feeling a mother could have. I never experienced this immediately after birth with my other 2 because they were taken quickly. The nurse took her from me and I was so anxious to hold her again.
The whole experience from beginning to end was mostly hell. My third pregnancy and labor was the roughest but the moment of our first acquaintance made every horrible event worth it. I survived carrying another human being and bringing them into this world. It can suck the soul out of you. Tamia made me feel like a warrior after delivering her because I really thought I wasn’t going to make it. That why I will always tell my girls that Beauty is

No matter what, every single day somebody is being judged and labeled. Whether or not a person is overweight, underweight, mentally challenged, we are all being judged. Furthermore, growing up in a conservative, white, Christian family, has taught me many things about how I am expected to act, as well as which actions are acceptable or unacceptable. My culture and religious views molded me into believing that it was acceptable to judge others and be intolerant of different groups of people. In my family, you were expected to wait until married to have sex, then it was appropriate to have a child.…
