I felt like this was our year, it was a warm and beautiful september. The Pirates had recorded the second best record in all of baseball. The top three records in all of baseball all occurred in the Pirates division: the NL Central. The only problem is that we were going against the hottest pitcher in baseball Jake Arrieta, with PED speculation circulating all over the place he still managed the best second half of a season ever recorded by a pitcher. I keep using words like we and our when describing what the Buccos were doing because the Yinzer fanbase was equally a part of everything the Pirates were doing this year. …show more content…
They started winning games early hanging in the toughest division in baseball. They had some obvious weaknesses like their defense. Despite leading the league assists the outfield still sucked at feilding. Plus the Pedro “The Bull” Alveraz had a surprisingly good offensive season, but he still couldn't play the field to save his life. Luckily the pitching was fantastic all year lead by ace Gerrit Cole. Francisco Liriano and Aj Burnett also had very strong years. The offense wasn’t to bad either lead by a young outfield of solid hitters and former MVP Andrew Mccutchen. The Pirates had made some genius moves this year to help them get the second best record in baseball. They acquired pitcher J.A Happ who helped the heavily down the road in the season. They also added Michael Morse who hit over .300 with the team. Reliever Jokiam Soria was another addition that proved to valuable. These additions to what was already in place combined with strong coaching from Clint Hurdle made more a great Bucco regular

FRANCONA: The Boston Red Sox Years Terry Francona, who managed the Cleveland Indians to within one game of winning the 2016 World Series, left his mark on Major League Baseball when he led the Boston Red Sox to the championship in 2004, in his first season as manager. The Red Sox broke an 86-year drought and the curse of Babe Ruth, with an improbable comeback in the American League Championship Series. The team rallied from a 3-0 deficit in the best-of-seven series with their hated rival, the New York Yankees.…

Harper kept such high hitting numbers, while on a team that did not make the playoffs. He is the first such player to win the MVP and not make the playoffs since Albert Pujos in 2008. In addition to Harper’s dominate season, the Nationals have replaced Matt Williams with Dusty Baker as manager. It’ll be interesting to see how the two combine over the next few years, as the Nationals have Harper signed for three more…

In my opinion, I would consider them one of the favorites for winning the World Series and a big reason for that is because of Strasburg’s pitching. Fortunately, Strasburg is on a team that has helped him out graciously with runs. Other aces have thrown great games and lost because of no offensive support, but with a team filled with offensives stars, that doesn’t seem to happen anytime…

Terry Francona did not unleash the full power of the Cleveland bullpen who has been pitching very well, in particular Andrew Miller. They did have to make a tough decision when giving Trevor Bauer the ball to start. The Cubs were a very good hitting team during the Regular Season especially when seeing the same pitcher twice. Bauer pitched a .671 OPS the first, and .675 OPS the second time through the order. He pitched a solid game but it was a moot point as the offense just could beat the Cubs pitching staff.…

But the ninth inning is a whole different animal, and these three guys are some of the best in the bigs. We saw Dellin Betances struggle to hold his own as a closer, and although he may have been able to make the adjustment, the Chapman signing was absolutely necessary. To get him, he were going to have to be paid in full. In the end, the Yankees paid to get the man they wanted, and the Dodgers paid to get their closer to return to LA. With Chapman and Jansen being two of the best in the business, their contract values should come as a surprise to no one, as they earned the right to ask for five years, and almost twice as much as the previous record for any relief pitcher.…
