DAY 1

The first day can be described with the following words: long, boring, interesting, dangerous and wet.

We departed from Marosvasarhely at around 9 AM with a bus; I must say that this was my longest trip since my accident. It was so LONG that I dozed off several times during the trip. Luckily we made a few stops to pick up several other passengers too which made the trip less BORING. Of course, we also had many awesome sightseeings but still, just sitting for over 4 hours doing nothing was quite exhausting.

Before going to the camp, we made a little detour at Miko Castle. The Mikó Castle (Romanian: Castelul Mikó; Hungarian: Mikó-vár) is a fortified castle in Miercurea Ciuc (Csíkszereda), Romania. It is among the city's most important monuments, and today houses an ethnographic museum devoted to Székely heritage. Inside the castle, tourists can visit the Kajoni Janos Library and the Csiki Szekely Museum. We visited the second one which was pretty INTERESTING. Want to know what we saw in the museum? Check

But luck was still on our side cause we had a few umbrellas and raincoats nearby which helped us avoid getting too wet. After drying up a bit and accomodating ourselves with our rooms, we all had a big meeting in the big dining room where we all got aquanted in a fun way. We all formed a circle and a boy stood in the middle having a ball of string in his hand. He threw the ball to a random person who said a few words about himself then that person threw the ball to another random person thus continuing the introducing game until...well until everyone introduced themselves of course:) However, the fun part of the game was that whoever introduced themselves had to hold a piece of the string in their hand and in the end a giant cobweb was formed inside the circle. It was something I've never done and seen

I think the coolest thing at the museum were the two displays they had one of which was a simulation of a cell and how small they were I’d say about 95% of the cell was the bed, the second thing they had was a display of an Andersonville prisoner trying to escape by digging a tunnel with a shiv. I really enjoyed the second display because it really showed the struggle of the prison and how prisoners would do anything to escape. Some of the cons of the museum were that it was almost all based on WWII POW camps there were maybe 6 plaques actually about Andersonville in the museum which I found to be slightly disappointing. Also, the museum could have been…

    Museum Indians Summary

When I read Museum Indians I thought that the imagery most important to the story was when they were in the museum “I can see a story developing behind her eyes, and I tug on her arm to release the words.” This quote from the story means that the author’s mother is thinking of a past life experience that is taking her focus away. I thought the past event in the mother’s life is when she had to leave original the Indian tribe so she could help out the family during the war. The effect this quote had on the text is to see how the mother is so the readers can fully understand how connected the author's mother is to her past. The tone I get from this quote in the passage it is in is sadness and…

When we got there, it was night time so all the lights were lit up and it was really colorful and beautiful. My friends and I decided that this year we didn’t want to ride any rides. So we all walked around most of the time.…

After reading “Museum” by Naomi Nye, I think that the purpose of her essay is to convey the message that mistakes or embarrassing moments not only have an effect on you, but on the individuals around during the moment. To explain, “Museum” is about the author and her friend, who entered into the wrong house believing that it was the McNay Museum. It is not until the home owners bring it to the women’s attention that they are in the wrong place. During this embarrassing scene, the teenage daughter was present and her views of her parents and her home were changed. To further my explanation, the teenage daughter bumps into the author thirty years later and reveals to her that it was her embarrassing moment/mistake that opened her eyes to the…

Our councillors were Moja and Javier. Moja was from Malaysia and Javier was from Columbia. It was scrambled eggs and sausage to eat with orange juice to drink. After that was over, we went to the morning gathering, sang a few songs, listened to some announcements, and finally got to go back to our cabin. When we got back to the cabin we played gaga ball for a little over an hour and screwed around for the rest of the time.…

I was excited when my mother asked me to go with her to the Mutter Museum on last weekend. It is located in 19 S 22nd Street, Philadelphia. It is a horrible place that made me felt so creepy. It has many collections of specimens and objects that reflect the human history of anatomy and medicine. I often got sick when I saw human’s internal organ.…

My experience with the museum actually started off quite awkwardly. I visited the museum by myself on a Sunday afternoon, and I was actually quite scared of even entering it. The building itself, located within the FDR park, was rather isolated from other buildings. It also was a small museum in general, which I find…

Ethnographic Interview Illness, or a sickness that affects the body or the mind, is something that can greatly alter a person’s life. The majority illnesses people experience lasts a relatively short amount if time, and in that short time they can impact the way someone lives. However, only a number of people have experienced a chronic, or lifelong, illness. The apparent and less obvious ways an illness can change an individual’s life are numerous, reaching far beyond fitness and bodily health into other aspects of life. The affects of a chronic illness are not limited simply to physical health but extend much further into negatively influencing social interactions, mental well-being, and financial security.…

The Jewish museum follows a model of three major themes that run throughout Jewish history. One of the themes is tradition and the reinterpretation of traditions. We have seen this in our class when it came to the Rabbinate's & Karaites, the Pharisees, Sadducees and Essenes, and the different Rabbi interpretations or the Torah, Talmud, or Mishnah such as Rabbi Rashi or Rabbi Akiva. Throughout the museum, there were copies of the Torah in different structures such as the scroll made of parchment or a codex. There was a Torah that was on a scroll made of parchment written in ink from Tunisia in 1837.…

The publication “The Museum as Context” by Amy Tucker analyzes the environment of the museum and how culture and context is changed depending on the environment art is presented in. The purpose of art exhibitions is to show the audience an organized presentation of particular art pieces. The question raised in this chapter is whether the organization of the presentation is precise to represent each piece of work and does this representation distort the meaning of a piece. There are many ways art exhibitions are presented and displayed, from light to temperature. Exhibits can be considered a piece of art themselves due to the specific arrangements and methods of displaying items to connect the viewers with each piece of work.…

I have always had a passion for history and storytelling since I was a child and decided in seventh grade world history class that I wanted to be an archaeologist, discovering ancient cultures and uncovering their secrets. I maintained this plan, arriving at Boston University as an archaeology major but after several semesters of study realized that it wasn’t the exact path for me. I began to grow my appreciation of museums, admiring how they could ignite wonder, curiosity, and learning in myself and others. I realized this was where I felt most at home. Therefore, I decided to change my major to art history, while retaining an archaeology minor, and explore history through the lens of artist’s interpretations and ideas.…
