It was a winter wonderland outside, the whether has been terrible for late November. I made my way to my job and checked the bulletin board to see if the results were up. It has been months and yet nothing has come to conclusion. For the past months, I had sleepless nights, angry moments, and lifeless days. I went into my office and set down my winter coat and gloves. I have been working as a junior news reporter for about 5 years and now it is my time to be promoted to a senior news reporter.

Kim I have been working for this position day and night, I am not going to let a rival take this position from me. Rachel and I are at war because of her attempt to embarrass me in front of the entire office. On top of that she had the courage to steal my boyfriend. She cannot get away with this” I said desperately hoping Mr. Kim would understand things from my perspective.
Rachel Barber is an office colleague who I met 3 years ago, we were best friends at first but then her egoistic personality started to arise conflicts between us. I’m an understanding and patient person, but she took things way to far. She started to spread rumors about me when my career started to take off, embarrass me and steal the only person that mattered so much to me after my parents. However, Mr. Kim said I would have to face consequences for my actions.
That evening, Mr. Kim asked me to work after hours. Mr. Kim always takes Rachel’s side and I was sick of it; the man has no heart when it comes to me. I was on the couch near my office door wearing my winter gloves. As I gathered my belongings and made my way out, I spotted police talking to other employees and ambulance lights from the windows. Mr. Kim was no longer in his office and one of the officers held a bloodstained knife in a Ziploc bag.
