I wake, hungover as usual to the unavoidable screech of Effie Trinket screaming, “The tributes are here!” I have this strong bitter taste in my mouth with a never ending headache due to my drinking habits. The constant horrors of the games and the grief over my family’s death, and the fact that every tribute I’ve ever trained has been killed in the arena has haunted me for years. I turn to the obvious fate that has been chosen for me, the inescapable addiction of drinking and isolation. My constant abuse of alcohol dulls my pain and numbs my sorrow that I have obtained because of the annual hunger games. I anxiously lie awake preparing myself for what’s about to come… knowing I have to train another set of contestants sends the coldest of shivers down my spine. I cannot begin to imagine the pain and suffering the families of District 12 are about to go …show more content…
Peeta and Katniss start to talk about what skill they have Peeta explains how he’s strong and knows how to camouflage himself with paint and Katniss knows how to use a bow and hunt. I happily relies, theres something different about these two, Suddenly think to myself, maybe this year will be different to all the rest and district 12 might actually have a chance. As a mentor I have to Train the tributes separately as in the games they will be against each other. And start up and grab Peeta by the arm and take him to the privet area to talk to him about how to overcome his fear of the games and how to obtain the hearts of sponsors. Peeta thinks he can win, but to do so I need to talk them through strategy on how I won, but I'm scared its to much for them to handle. Every waking minute unknowing that this could be your last day, they need to understand that this is life or death and every decision they make in the area there life depends on
