Narrative-At-Point Nepean Story

Decent Essays
6 months since the incident at Point Nepean occurred. It’s time to return to school. I’m looking forward to seeing Abby. I’ve been thinking about her all the time. I don’t think there’s been a moment where I haven’t – even in my sleep.

I arrive at school and she is there waiting for me. We walk to class together.
When we arrive at the classroom, everybody starts to walk over to me. They all start shouting ‘everything was your fault! You’re the reason that girl went missing. You didn’t even find her. The volunteers did!’
I start feeling all different emotions inside of me. ‘Everyone, just leave me alone!’
Not knowing what to do, I suddenly hear Abby shout ‘Everyone leave Kip alone! Stop spreading gossip, none of you know what actually happened.

“The storyteller” is an article by Sandra Cisneros about her life journey beginning from post graduate school to a school teacher. In between she writes about her life in the point of views of a dependent, a growing writer, and a teacher, with short descriptions that gives the reader a glimpse of her mentality on each stage. All that is mixed up into the life of an average Hispanic woman from Chicago. Halfway through her article, during her “growing writer” stage, Cisneros writes a paragraph about what her and her friends do together.…

Equiano begins his nonfiction, "The Interesting Narrative" in an odd way, with short letters to various people. I enjoyed these as they provided solid background information as well as helped to set the stage for the beginning few chapters. The first sentence of Chapter One immediately made me think of Dr. Shew's class as well as David Foster Wallace. Equiano states that it is difficult for people writing autobiographies "to escape the imputation of vanity" or attribute themselves with excessive pride. This connects back to Walker Percy and David Foster Wallace as the people who write these autobiographies are often too caught up in their natural default setting and are too self absorbed.…

Olaudah Equiano’s The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano, or Gustavus Vassa, written by Himself relives the story of a young man taken from his home in Africa and was put into slavery at the age of eleven. Olaudah Equiano 's quest of being a slave to buying his own freedom was accomplished by not only his physical work, but by both his religious views and scholarly ways. “Equiano is truly a man of conflict, and his feelings towards slavery are complex and sometimes paradoxical.” (Dias 5). Equiano was truly blessed to have the slave owner’s he did.…

Throughout my four years of high school, the seaside community of Narragansett, Rhode Island, has encouraged and nurtured the growth of its youthful inhabitants as students and individuals. The supportive environment and abundant opportunities available for students to pursue their passions and help others consequently benefits the community as a whole. As an athlete, and more specifically, a runner, I have aspired to motivate and encourage young athletes to enjoy the fun and friendships that emerge from being a part of a sports team. During the summer, I volunteered at the Summer Youth Track Series at Narragansett High School. Eager smiles painted the faces of the joyous young runners lining up in heats, ready to run as fast as they can in the 100 meter sprint, throw as far as they can in the turbo javelin, and jump as far as they can in the long jump.…

Personal Narrative rough draft : Car accident It was early in April of 2016, sunny and beautiful, the day was sure to be full of excitement and energy as student council speeches are due and the final trimester of the year was slowly coming to an end. I woke up that morning to my mother blissfully waking me up with my light turning on and her sweet beautiful voice saying “Wake up, Joey,” I slowly rolled out of bed and stumbled into the shower trying hopelessly to escape the morning and the horrible sensations of waking up early on a Wednesday. As the warm water rushed over me I rehearsed in my head how I would present my student council speech to my teacher. Little did I know how different it would actually be that day.…

It was like any other school day, coming back from lunch, sitting in class, and talking to friends; however, it all changed once I arrived in my American Studies class. Mrs. Forbs was standing in front of the class waiting for everyone to quiet down. The class was a bunch of sixth graders, so it took a while to make us be silent. The day felt weird for me, I had my same robotic schedule but for some reason something didn’t feel right. I thought it had something to do with the food I ate for lunch, I would be prepared to head down to the bathroom or even nurse if that was the case; however, what happened that day no sixth grader would be able to prepare for.…

There is a certain type of dedication that a 13 year old girl has for a band full of cute boys that she wants to marry. The excitement only builds when the concert is announced, and finalized when a white t-shirt is decorated with the last name of the cutest member written on the back like a jersey. April 11th 2014, the date circled in the Glee Calendar was fast approaching; in fact, the story starts the very afternoon before the concert. Churchill P.E class, the least athletic but surprisingly competitive place, causes the initial hiccup. Ultimate Frisbee does not seem like a deadly game; however, in this case it almost was.…
